TOD

I started to read Lee Grant's memoir. I love when memoirs have an index so you can choose first what you want to read. First up was Airport 77, Bueno Sera Mrs. Campbell but no Damien: Omen 2 or The Mod Squad which I saw the other day where she guest starred along with Richard Dreyfus playing Mother and Son in 1970

BTW it was interesting to see Dreyfus' acting tricks that he used in future films

Larry - that's all well and good from yesterday about the bus, but the seating space allotted is tiny.  No reason for three seats, though, but even tall thin people spill over regularly into a second seat.

On the other hand, with all the calorie food info exploding on the net the past few days - i am delightedly surprised that a Big Mac has only 520 calories.  If you have that and a Diet drink (or water)  and nothing else, that's a very good calorie-conscious meal, and it has a bit of the good food groups, including vegetables.

Of course, August means it's time once again to mention that August Wilson's real name (and the name he went by for his first twenty years or so) was Freddie.

Good morning, all.

Don't think I knew that about August Wilson, FJL.

And, yes, Singdaw, I want that heart mold. Except I never make Jello. Wonder what it would look like in green.

August Wilson's former wife lives a few houses down from mine, and their former house is also just a stone's throw away, as well as the restaurant where he did a lot of his writing.

Friday morning greetings!  Things were pretty chaotic around here yesterday and we were without running water for big stretches of the morning and afternoon.  The wet bar is all in place, but not ready to use yet.  We're waiting for the plumbers to return to finish up and I'm ready to call a halt (or, at least, a moratorium) to the home improvements for a while.

Absolutely, DR Singdaw!  The plumbers just arrived, so it won't be long now...

DVR: Some goodies from TCM

DVD: Hmmmm....maybe a Punjabi movie.

Streaming: The Comcast man (or woman) will be here Saturday morning to install a new modem/router, so hopefully my Netflix and Amazon streaming abilities will improve.

Was this ever translated into esperanto?

TOD:

I''m headed to Austin tomorrow for barbecue and some brewery opening. I plan to finish off Stephen King's Mr. Mercedes on the drive up. Only 2 1/2 CDs left and it's getting intense. Nice build-up to the end.

DVDs: Maybe Broadway Melody of 1940.

CDs: some of the new stuff I bought last night, especially Lamont, Hendricks and Ross, great trailblazers of the sound Manhattan Transfer picked up.
