All this talk of bars.

Let's not set it too low.

Back from mailing my old license plates back to the DMV in Connecticut.  I should have taken care of that long ago, but it's off the list now.

TOD:

I''m headed to Austin tomorrow for barbecue and some brewery opening. I plan to finish off Stephen King's Mr. Mercedes on the drive up. Only 2 1/2 CDs left and it's getting intense. Nice build-up to the end.

DVDs: Maybe Broadway Melody of 1940.

CDs: some of the new stuff I bought last night, especially Lamont, Hendricks and Ross, great trailblazers of the sound Manhattan Transfer picked up.

John, don't mean to be a stickler (okay, I do...but courteously), but it's Lambert, Hendricks and Ross.  Jon Hendricks and worked a lot with The Manhattan Transfer, which is my absolutely most favorite singing group. :D

As promised, here is a photo of the newly-installed wet bar.  It's 98% complete and fully operational.  A carpenter will come to put the finishing endpiece on the countertop and to repair the baseboard.  We are very pleased!

Very nice, Ginny!

You actually had to return the license plates??  I've never heard of that.

The only way they'll cancel your old registration (and hence stop the property taxes) is if you turn in the old plates.

Someone from the Cleveland outpost of DR Ben's employer told me, in an email, that he'd call at 2pm.  How long should I wait before getting involved in something from which I don't want to be interrupted?

That makes sense, I guess.  I've never moved out of state...at least, not since I started driving or paying property taxes.

Errands run. It seems awfully humid today, but according to weather.com, it's only 58%.

Still, possible rain tonight and tomorrow.

For those who are interested, here is an interesting and well-written review from the NY Times of a new Beethoven biography:

My boss is proposing we play human foosball, as if we were the people on the sticks in a tabletop foosball game.

I think my boss needs a margarita.
