Can't top the Val Kilmer line. So, I'm off to bed. Night, all.

Contrary to popular belief, Scandanavia is not the only place to see fjords.  Of course, as BK noted, there is your local Fjord dealer.  But you can also see fjords in Chile, which I saw when I cruised around Cape Horn and up the western coast of Chile.

Was that as beautiful a trip as it sounds?

Well, I didn't spend much time lounging by the pool on that cruise.  The fjords were stunning, I loved stopping in the Falkland Islands, and there was something rather amazing about sailing around Cape Horn and past Tiera del Fuego (just so I could type Tiera del Fuego).

While reading the reviews for today's free Nook book, actually a 78 page novella, one person said they read it in 4-5 hours.  I know I'm a fast reader but is anyone, without a disability, that slow?

My boss found out today he's allergic to beef as well as mesquite, live oak and pecan, which are the woods we use to smoke beef. I think he's saying he's allergic to Texas.

Did he get bitten by the tick that causes a red meat allergy?

Who knows. But he's not happy. He was a big beef eater.

Me too.

I had to look up the tick induced allergy.  I never heard of anyone being allergic to beef for any reason so I looked it up.  Apparently one can be allergic to all meat.

"Meat allergy includes beef, lamb, pork, or meat from any other mammal"

So, cannibalism is out for John's boss, also.

A trailer for Lucky Stiff -- and they're not afraid to sing in it.

I was hoping they had cut the music.

Thank you for the pats on the back from BK and ChowMein!

have no idea why this just popped into my head.

Here is a photo of Ethel Merman as Rose in Gypsy.

She is holding her dog Chow Mein. By the start of Act two he is no longer around.

In the song "Together Wherever They Go" Rose, Herbie & Louise sing

"Tomato sauce goes well with chow mien."

Now we know what happened to the dog.

Ewwwwwwww!

Except that was the cruise that unofficially had the Norovirus.  Half the passengers and crew were sick for all or part of the two week cruise.  Two of the three dining rooms were closed  for the first week; so you just showed up for dinner and waited in line until they had an opening at one of the tables.  The ship was dirty because they didn't have enough staff to keep it cleaned . and you tried to stay away from close quarters with people.  Not a great cruise.

Thank you all for the kind words and the pats on the back.  It really doesn't seem possible that it has been almost 21 years.  At the time I entered treatment, I would have said that 21 days would have been impossible.  And I was tested.  My mom was killed four months after I got sober, and I knew that everyone was just waiting for me to start drinking.  But, like they say, you just take it one day at a time,
