Morning all.

That is all.

DR Ben, I thought you were off to your holiday this week. Are you still in town?

We leave tomorrow morning.

Anthony is coming in from Long Island later today with the car.

I remember going to FEDORA and liking it enough to return.  I even took my parents to see it while on a visit to L.A. in May 1979.  They liked it and probably would have already gone to it back home (for William Holden if for no other reason), but they hadn't heard of it.

I never forgot it, but I never crossed paths with it again until the post-laserdisc days when I acquired that LD as part of a collection someone gave me.  I watched it then, and much of it was nice, but I found I was kind of "eh" about it in general.  I'm glad to hear the Blu-ray is good, but I can wait until a non-forced-French-subtitle release becomes available.

In my memory it played the Mann Westwood.  I wonder if that's correct, and/or where else it played.

Yes, the rain in Manhattan is supposed to end soon. They just announced a flood watch for Long Island. I hope Vixmom is OK. She has a penchant for letting that flood monster in to her basement during times like this.

And the bad weather is supposedly over in Manhattan. That was it?

Are you kidding me?

They were promising rain all day today.  Possibility of flooding.  The whole bit.

DR Ben is right, of course.  We don't need no steenkin' flooding when it comes to vixmom's basement!

After I posted that, the news showed the flooded areas, so I xan only state once again that in most bad weather situations Manhattan is very fortunate. Long may it continue.

Unless, of course, Manhattan is like Mahagonny and we need no typhoon to destroy us since humanity is perfectly capable of accomplishing it alone.

The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain.

Wednesday morning greetings!  Today I'm going to a noon book discussion at the library where my career began 41 years ago and then to an evening program at the historical society.  In between, maybe I'll get some AAUW work done...

Topic of the Day:  I think I've only seen "How to Marry a Millionaire." :-\

Then you must rent from your library all the films she did with Bogart. Some DVD of the The Big Sleep (I think) have an alternate version. Highly recommend them.

I had a pleasant walk in a sprinkle of rain to the post office and sent the info to the New York County Clerk.

Now that I'm home, i've got some things to accomplish on that eternal Jerome Moross project, then I hope to begin work on Chee-Chee.

TOD - I have a lot of Lauren Bacall movies yet to see, but I HAVE toured Malabar Farm near Mansfield, Ohio, where she and Humphrey Bogart were married.  HERE'S some newsreel footage of their wedding.

It may come as a surprise to some, but I have seen way more Ed Nelson films then Lauren Bacall films.

Since Mr. Nelson passed away, as well, I'll just include him in the TOD :)

ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS
HOT CAR  GIRL
NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST
THE DEVIL'S PARTNER
T-BIRD GANG
THE YOUNG CAPTIVES
TEENAGE CAVEMAN
TEENAGE DOLL

I saw Fedora back in high school and hated it. The dubbing. The predictability. The pacing. I wonder what I would think of it now.

The Kiss Me Kate critical edition vocal score is now published. I still don't know what's going on with the orchestra score.

Tantalizing!

I wish they provided a couple of sample pages for things like this, to better whet the appetite.

There is also a TV movie called ALONG CAME A SPIDER that he did with Suzanne Pleshette.

He never stopped working doing tons of episodic TV.

He also did have a memorable moment in AIRPORT 1975

SINCE TODAY IS ALSO

ASK BK A QUESTION DAY

I have one:

Received the cd of Centennial Summer and enjoying it very much. Never seen the movie but I am a Kern fan.

With the exception of Larry Stevens (aka Enzo Stuarti) singing All Through The Day can you list who sings what on the CD?
