It may come as a surprise to some, but I have seen way more Ed Nelson films then Lauren Bacall films.

We are all rather shocked by this news  ;)

Recently I came across DESIGNING WOMEN on television and watched about 10 minutes of it...it is definitely a movie I want to see in its entirety. It could very well become my other favorite Lauren Bacall movie.

It took two alarms and Keith to wake me up this morning and then my hiking group canceled due the rain and lightening.  Of course it is doing neither at the moment.  I'm not awake and I can't seem to fall back to sleep.

Hello All:

So sad about Lauren Bacall.  I started to appreciate her AMAZING TALENT AND CHARISMA the last few years.

BK, How EXCITING that you had the opportunity to meet her and record her duet with Brent Barrett.

I really enjoyed your story about meeting and working with her.

She was an extraordinary Actor, and when she is on screen with Bogey it is hard to take your eyes off of them both.

SUCH CHARISMA TOGETHER.

May God Bless them both.

This one seems to have been ignored by the media, but musician Les Paul passed away yesterday at age 94.

Shayne, I believe the singers are called out in the notes in the booklet.

I've been up since nine but stayed in bed until ten - seven hours of sleep.  Then I had the first of the telephonic calls - this one with the fellow who runs the publishing for Kander and Ebb.  He has the tracks but has only had time to listen to two of them and he loved them.  He'll be making Kander a CD and I should have his comments back in a timely fashion or so I'm told.

Happy Hump Day, all!

BK, I, too, really loved reading your Bacall story. I always love hearing about those diva myths being dispelled, and about how gracious and kind people of her ilk could be. I'm sure she was a terror with people who deserved it and sadly, those are the ones who start the diva rumors.

I got to meet Bob Fosse in an actual private invited group audition. I had no business being there with my early dance skills, but a couple of us, in a moment of emboldened madness, slid our pictures under the door at the Minskoff Studios where he was working on the choreography for "Dancin'". We were both shocked at being called in to audition. I didn't do badly, but I certainly was not up to his standards, and he could not have been kinder, even shaking my hand and thanking me for coming in before I left.

Against my better judgment, but with a bit of curiosity, I sent an email to a person with a foundation for which I once was employed.

DR John G I enjoyed the story of your friends and the wake.
Thank you. Since I couldn't go to Joyce's funeral, I was glad I learned about this get-together.

DR JRand, TCM will be having an "Allison Hayes" day in November!! All Allison, all the time!

THE DISEMBODIED

COUNTERPLOT

PIER 5, HAVANA,

ATTACK OF THE 50FT WOMAN

MOHAWK

ect,. etc., etc.,

Of course we both have all of those films on DVD...but it is nice to imagine that millionions (perhaps, billions) of television viewers will be enjoying her films for the first time! Possibly creating a new generation of Allison Hayes fans!
