Wow, DR George - interesting.  I would have wanted to go over that part again, too.

So we got our reservation list over three weeks ahead - we were almost sold out.  So, we put it up on Facebook and I assume we'll be completely sold out by tomorrow.  We're still trying to figure out what if anything can be done about adding a show, but I'm not even sure I want to do that.

Well, it's time to leave work.  With the new hours, we can't stay past 7:00 pm. :P

Be back later.

At the beginning of the movie, just before Elaine starts singing I'm Still Here, she's seen holding a photo of Robin Williams and her. Really sad.

Back from a mile-and-a-half jog.  Figured out one of the two songs I'm still missing and before the evening is done I shall figure out the other.  The song I figured out means we're doing two songs from one show, but I have a long story to tell about the show, its star and me and I don't want to tell it with the first of the two songs - so I'll just give a history lesson for that one, and then tell the personal story ahead of the second song, the one I thought of tonight.  The final song to be chosen will be a ballad for Evan Harris.  Happy to listen to suggestions - should be a song I've recorded at some point or one with a personal connection - one thing I was thinking of was The World's a Toy Balloon from Flahooley put together with Paper Moon.  I thought that would be really sweet.

of course I shouldn't complain --  I didn't not lose my car in the flooding as so  many did today   and my road was not turned into a river as so many were today

but  bailing out the basement from  6 - 8 Am  followed by an hour drive (to travel 7 miles)   AIN'T my favorite way to start the day

apparently we received our normal summer's rainfall of 11.75 inches in  4-5 hours...roads were impassable, cars were swept away , houses were flooded....

I got off lightly

I hope Anthony made it to Manhattan with his car without incident

That flooding is incredible, vixmom.  We got absolutely nothing, to my knowledge, in spite of flood warnings.

Interesting driving lesson post from DR GEORGE.

Thanks for the Allison in November info DR MBARNUM......her birthday is March, so I wonder why they chose a day in November?  Maybe it's just her turn.....but yes it will be nice to watch along with a few others on that day.

FORTUNATELY, this kind of flooding can't happen in the Tumwater area.  Down in the Centralia/Chehalis area where some co-workers live, they can be flooded.  One co-worker's house did get flooded a couple of years ago.  She had to have the house raised up seven (I think) feet and shouldn't get flooded out again.

DR JRand, TCM will be having an "Allison Hayes" day in November!! All Allison, all the time!

THE DISEMBODIED

COUNTERPLOT

PIER 5, HAVANA,

ATTACK OF THE 50FT WOMAN

MOHAWK

ect,. etc., etc.,

Of course we both have all of those films on DVD...but it is nice to imagine that millionions (perhaps, billions) of television viewers will be enjoying her films for the first time! Possibly creating a new generation of Allison Hayes fans!

God bless those millionions!

I wish I were in Dublin! Annalene, Kim, and John Wilson!

Why do I think I know Josh Prince?  Did I recommend him to City Opera? Did i talk to him last year about recording the lead in ROBERTA? What's run away with my mind?

I love John Wilson's concerts.

Finished with my viewing, did a first stab at a show order - this show's a bit tricky and I don't think I've quite found it yet, but it's close.

The most useful moment was when we had to drive on the freeway and the front right tire blew out.  The steering wheel did actually pull to the right like it really would.  I, naturally, took my foot off the gas, carefully applied the brakes and slowly tried to get to the right side of the road, but the guy said that the best thing is to actually either accelerate a bit or at least not take your foot off the gas so quickly.  That way the car can stabilize, even with the blown tire, which will give you more control to be able stop.  I really would've liked to have gone through that scenario several more times, just to really be able to remember the experience.

I think when I blew a tire going 50 miles an hour all I did was slow down some.  I never stopped.

Never??

They had that type of flooding this morning in Bellevue.

Tacoma got, overnight, less than an inch and a half; which is still almost twice our usual total for the month of August.
