We are settled in our nice hotel in Brighton, MI (it's about 20 minutes from Ann Arbor, due north).

I don't know if younger people know what "well water" tastes like. It's a distinctive taste that I haven't tasted for decades! He asked for some lemon to put in the water and he said that helped. I didn't have water, I had coffee (I know, it's made with water but the coffee flavor overwhelms the well water flavor).

Anthony is taking a nap right now and I may quit the laptop and take a nap also. Most of the relatives (we're here for a reunion) are going to a baseball game tonight (The Detroit Tigers vs. some other team, I don't have a clue which one) and we're NOT going as you could probably tell from the aside. We have no interest in BB so we will hang out at the hot and greet one of my sisters and a niece when they arrive from the airport.

The big festivities are tomorrow. According to the weather bug it's supposed to rain with lightning and thunder. There will be an outdoor canopy but if it does get bad I guess we will end up in the house.

We will stay on Sunday as well and head back to New York on Monday morning.

You are about half an hour from where we lived.  I have skied on Mt. Brighton and I recall Brighton is a cute little town.  It is very likely you have well water there.  Our first Michigan home had well water.  It was the 2nd of three homes we have had with well water, and all three tasted different.  Our first experience, in Pennsylvania, the water was delicious.

The Tigers are playing the Seattle Mariners tonight so I hope the Tigers win.

Have fun at the reunion.

Why?  You don't live in Detroit.  And I have never heard you say that you even like baseball.

Just wrote the first half of the Kritzerland commentary, so that's a good start.  And I moved a couple of songs around, too.  We have added the matinee performance.

I guess I could go to Gelson's and get something, but that kind of makes me nauseous even thinking about it.

Went to a fun local production of "Smokey Joe's Cafe." Most of the voices were excellent, some decent choreography and it's all nothing but an evening of Lieber and Stoller songs. I missed having a story. My friend did not. She loved all of the songs.

My sister's boyfriend got this e-mail forwarded to him...it's pretty funny!

Quote
A.A.A.D.D.- KNOW THE SYMPTOMS!

Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder.

 Age-Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.

 This is how it manifests:

I decide to water my garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway,
I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.

As I start toward the garage,
I notice mail on the porch table that
I brought up from the mail box earlier.

I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys on the table,
Put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, And notice that the can is full.

So, I decide to put the bills back
On the table and take out the garbage first...

 But then I think,
Since I'm going to be near the mailbox
When I take out the garbage anyway,
I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my check book off the table,
And see that there is only one check left.

My extra checks are in my desk in the study, So I go inside the house to my desk where I find the can of Pepsi I'd been drinking.

I'm going to look for my checks,
But first I need to push the Pepsi aside So that I don't accidentally knock it over.

 The Pepsi is getting warm,
And I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.

As I head toward the kitchen with the Pepsi, A vase of flowers on the counter Catches my eye--they need water.

I put the Pepsi on the counter and
 Discover my reading glasses that
I've been searching for all morning.
I decide I better put them back on my desk, But first I'm going to water the flowers.

I set the glasses back down on the counter , Fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I'll be looking for the remote, But I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, So I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, But first I'll water the flowers.

I pour some water in the flowers,
But quite a bit of it spills on the floor.

So, I set the remote back on the table, Get some towels and wipe up the spill.

Then, I head down the hall trying to
Remember what I was planning to do.

At the end of the day:
 The car isn't washed,
 The bills aren't paid,
There is a warm can of
 Pepsi sitting on the counter,
The flowers don't have enough water,
There is still only 1 check in my check book, I can't find the remote, I can't find my glasses, And I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day, And I'm really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem,
And I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail....

 Do me a favour.
Forward this message to everyone you know, Because I don't remember who I've sent it to.

Don't laugh -- if this isn't you yet, your day is coming!
P.S. I don't remember who sent it to me, so if it was you, thanks a lot.

Finished the second episode of Sherlock Holmes and started "The Wolf of Wall Street," which might be a decent movie. I wouldn't know. I don't care about anything that's happening or any of the characters.

Quite a few years ago, there was a non-equity national tour that came to the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, and I worked backstage with the wardrobe people as an "over-hire."  I think that that's what locals are called when hired for tours.  Anyway, the other cast members said that the woman playing the DeLee Lively track was quite the diva...that she had "attitude for days."  I remember that quote.  She had talent, but not enough to justify her antics. ::)
