AND THEN CAME MAUDE

Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Maude, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently seeing their favorite cowbaret performer, MOOde MOOgart.

Sounds like Maude had a good director for her cabaret act...like you've talked about many times before. :)

I actually don't know if she has a director or not - most need them, but some get on fine without.

And now, I'm off to bed.  I finally get to sleep in...well, as much as my cat will let me sleep in.

Good night.

So glad that you enjoyed Maude's cabaret show, bk. Jonathan Schwartz has been playing a lot of her on his radio show the past few years.

Good morning, all! I really wanted to sleep late, but I am heading off to Toyland to pick up the book I left there. I hope to be home by 11:00.

Good morning, all.

Did somebody say Sunday?

Because if it's Sunday, I must have an all-day rehearsal.

Okay, a 12:00-5:00 rehearsal.  But that effectively kills the day, does it not?  Why yes, I believe it does.  So I'll do that, then enjoy some time in front of a movie or two this evening, and that will be my day.

Sunday morning greetings!  I'm all ready for Richard to drop me off at my sister's hotel on his way to church in Cincinnati.  Nancy and I are headed to Owensboro, KY, today for a genealogy meeting tomorrow.  On the way home Tuesday, we have a very important stop to make at the new Vera Bradley outlet store just east of Louisville.

Lots of moving about by HHW'ers this morning....except me.  I am staying put.  More rain predicted for today - so the grass will be HIGH this week.

Last night was closing night of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, so today they will be putting up the set for THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER - hopefully the SHOP cast & staff did the cleaning and putting away that they are supposed to do.....we shall see.

I do not have a rehearsal until Wednesday, when we do Act III again.

Nice notes about the cabaret show.

Yes, I hope DR SINGDAW posts a photo of the six-drawer chest.  I don't buy anything from IKEA....I don't like to put things together.

I did put together my writing table/computer desk.....putting on the legs and assembling the drawer, so that wasn't too bad.  It was NOT IKEA, it was a WalMart special....

And I was home by 11:00, with my mystery, some other books and some CDs.  On my way downtown, I read the Act one libretto of Chee-Chee. It owes a great deal to Gilbert & Sullivan; it may be set in ancient China, but the characters are 1920s New Yorkers: Chee-Chee is a spoiled petulant society wife, her husband's a moron, the tartar Chief is the Latin boyfriend, the soubrette is a rich young flapper, the Prince a young, rather dim, playboy, and the Grand Eunuch a mogul, whose idiot son won't take over the family business.  It's rather like a comic episode of THE SOPRANOS. It could all occur in the wilds of Manhattan and New Jersey.

Got to church at 7:45 to discover that after the wedding yesterday no one reset the church altar for church and someone "helped" by putting away the six tables and 54 chairs that had been set up for coffee hour. I started setting up but fortunately a. Couple of other early arrives showed up and helped me get al the tables and chairs set up
