Pain free vibes for DR SINGDAW.

Continued health vibes for DR MIKE.

We are waiting on pins and needles for news from DR CILLA LIZ!!!  The planets are in good order, there may be a couple of other hoops to jump through and be prepared if someone claims they didn't "have time" to get everything together....they did and it will not be allowed.

Thanks JRand.   There are a total of seven applicants.   I did a quick google and the 6 other applicants all applied for the last opening for this position and none of them got it.  That doesn't mean they aren't competition, they are, but that's ok.  The next hoop is an interview on the 29th at 10 am

On the other hand, last night I watched a nifty film titled UNDERWORLD STORY (1950) starring Dan Duryea and Gale Storm (an odd pairing, if ever there was one).

Good morning. I checked the weather radar before I left the house this morning. There was no storm activity anywhere around. Something popped up, and I hiked in the rain. Luckily, the biggest part of the storm missed me, but the northern parts of the city are flooded.

DR Laura - it figures that it would only rain when you are trying to do something outside.

I'm going to answer this question in reverse.

What book was vastly improved in it's film version?

I'm trying to take more steps and sit less at the computer.  I have been trying to comment less even though I'm reading.

Back to working outside.

DR MBarnum and DR Laura:   Get thee hence to a place of procurement and find "Rosemary's Baby", obtain it and view it.

It is one of the GREAT CINEMATIC EXPERIENCES YOU WILL EVER HAVE!

I've been trying to formulate a reply to DR MBarnum's admission he has never seen Rosemary's Baby!  I'm still speechless. It's too bad it didn't star Steve Reeves or Reg Parks. But then it would have gone from the A-list to the D-list of films.

If it had been "The Attack of Rosemary's Baby" or "Rosemary's 50-Foot Baby", he'd have been all over it many times.

On a happier note, I was notified by a friend that the "Roberta" recording is now up for pre-order on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Roberta-Jerome-Kern/dp/B00MTZWDPE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1408447571&sr=8-1&keywords=kern+roberta

Looking forward to getting this

But have three questions about the songs.

1) From what I know about Roberta I thought Clemintina was dropped from the show before it opened. So why is this song in the show and not an Appendix?

2) There is a song titled "You Inspire a Mad Desire" that was also dropped from the show. Wondering why it's not in the appendix of songs. Is this a "lost song" or an alternate title for another song?

3) Is Madrigal the same song as Alpha, Beta, Pi?

Thanks. Looking forward to hearing it

TOD:

The Andrew Davies version of A Room With a View, complete with inane added ending that dragged World War I into the tender love story. Stick with the Merchant-Ivory version, one of the best adaptations I've ever seen.

The original movie is one of my sister's favorite movies.  She really disliked the mini-series.  I REALLY enjoyed the musical version.

Singdaw, last night I got a phone call. It went like this:

Me: "Hello?"
Campaign volunteer: "Hello. May I tell you about my candidate for governor -- Doug Ducey?"
Me: "No. You interrupted dinner time."
Click.

Don't believe everything you read.

1. "Clementina" was not cut; it was reduced to next to nothing and we recorded the complete original number.
2. If you know Roberta so well, you should know that "Alpha Beta Pi" is titled "Madrigal" on all previous recordings.
3. Nothing exists on "You Inspire A Mad Desire."
