TALL TALES AND TALL TAILS

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had tall tales and tall heads and tails, and now it is time for you to post until the tall cows come home.

The best thing about the movie version of DAMN YANKEES is that it preserves Gwen Verdon's magnificent performance forever.

I hope folks will not take this as a criticism, because I do not mean it as such. But I am curious about something. I notice quite that quite a few fellow DRs are writing "lightening" when referring to a meteorological event.

I had always thought that it was "thunder and lightning," but "I am lightening the color of my jeans by adding bleach to the wash."

Perhaps it is a regional thing?

Hoping to start catching up on the weekend.  One unusual thing about the September 15 - October 15 tax season at this place is that while we will put in more hours on a regular weekday, weekend work seems not to be expected.  This is very different from other places I've been.

Good morning, all! The ghosts were in a frenzy last night: about 11:15 or so my computer turned on, and twice, in about the period of an hour, I felt that someone was pushing my legs, perhaps to force me out of bed. That was followed by a very sleepless night and i am quite groggy at the moment.

And I find online that I am overdrawn by $400 for two unauthorized debit card charges. So, I'm off to the bank to fight this mess.  I knew there was some weird hankypanky going on with this computer. So, I now have no debit card for 4-7 days, which is bad but it's worse that I have no access to whatever small amount of mney I have in the bank, thanks to these damned crooks.

Good morning, all.

Slept in a bit, which was desperately needed, but at the expense of back and neck aches which are beginning to subside.

 Coffee!  And plenty of it!

Good morning, all.

Financial vibes for Elmore.

Kerry, I love me some Brave Combo. Best punk polka band I've ever seen. Their cha-cha version of "O Holy Night" is a permanent fixture on my iTunes.

The new Fosse bio says that Stanley Donen found Gwen Verdon ugly and his way of dealing with that was to shoot as few closeups of her as possible and try to get the camera far away when she wasn't dancing. I need to go back and watch the movie again with that thought in mind. (I always thought she was the best thing in the movie.)

I think we all need to watch the movie now.  I haven't seen it in years.

Today is National Hug Your Boss Day.

I ain't doing that. And it's because I like my boss. And I know he doesn't like hugs.

I was over to my bank branch for an hour. These asses made about five charges to my debit card, but only two were posted, in total of $488.00.  The bank has issued a new debit card and given me the name of the company  that placed the charges. I just spoke to them and they are issuing credit.

Do I think the nightmare is over? Not by a long shot.
