Phew!  I'm home.  Afternoon interview turned into a very long discussion.  I was there for 2 hours!  It was good though.  I really didn't know this lawyer very well and he said I'm definitely one of the top contenders in his mind.  All three commission members I met with have responded to my resume the same way..."Wow!"  the lady this morning said she even wrote that on my app, lol.    I would say so far things have gone as well as they could and I'm glad we took the extra time this afternoon.   I am tired though and think I need a hot fudge sundae or something of that ilk

Fantastic!

I'm sorry to hear you had a crappy blood draw, Singdaw. I am lucky so far for having a good vein. When the nurse had a hard time finding a vein in my hand for an IV, she used a butterfly needle - whatever that is. You might ask about it if they have problems in the future.

Thanks for the photo DR Singdaw.  I guess they need a lot of isles with multiple cakes in each category.

Topic of the Day:

The series of books I've read that have a female protagonist are the Flavia de Luce books.  I've read the first two, "The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie" and "The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag."  I enjoyed both of them very much.  I also love the Adriana Hofstetter books.

TV:  "Cagney and Lacey" and "Castle" are the only ones that I can think of, right now.

I took public transit to the Fair, and it worked extremely well. Folks that live near the fairgrounds will let you park in their front yard for a cool $25.

During the 1984 Olympics in L.A. I did the front yard parking thing to mosey around the Coliseum area and take in the sights, and of course that was 1984 but I think people were only charging $5.  Great fun, though.

Thank you so much, MBarnum.  However I would gladly settle for a LEI from Oregon!

A chocolate sundae sounds like a great way to unwind, Cillaliz. Hope it was wonderful. And I hope the rest of the process is this good.

Hi all. Spent the driving around and taking pictures of grain silos and grain elevators and such up in Rycroft then headed over to Dunvegan  for some more pictures. Then stopped by Sexsmith fiord yet some more.  Then went over to Vixdad's sister's house where we had barbecue with the nephew and his bride to be

Vixdad has managed to develop a painful case of tendinitis in his foot so we had to stop by the drugstore to purchase a cane and some ibuprofen   He is off soaking it in the tub now

I'm a sucker for cheap romantic comedies. Watching something called "Baggage Claim" and am enjoying too much of it. I realize it's trash, but Jenifer Lewis steals every scene she's in.

In the next couple of weeks we'll be moved to a brand new and more secure server.  Every web host in the last couple of months has been hit hard by voracious hackers trying (unsuccessfully) to break into servers.  What they do achieve is mucking up the performance of the servers, because these bots are relentless.

I just finished watching a documentary called "The Coexist Comedy Tour."  The idea originally was supposed to be a film of a tour featuring comedians of different religions...a Jew, a Christian, a Muslim, a Hindu, a Buddhist, and an atheist.

But you find out that they lost their Christian comedian and had to refocus the movie.  They made it about finding their Christian comedian so that they could finish the actual movie.  They held auditions and eventually found John Fugelsang to be their Christian (his mother was a nun and his father was a monk).

All six of the comedians were funny and insightful.  I really enjoyed this movie...it's not just about the comedy acts, but it's also about how the producers try to finish a documentary under not very optimal situations.

This documentary is "A Penn & Teller Film."  It's produced by Penn Jillette and directed by Penn.

If anyone watches "The Coexist Comedy Tour," make sure that you watch the bonus material...they say why the Christian comedian really left the tour. :-\
