I got an e-mail from someone who knows someone in NY who knows someone who was working in the hospital where Joan Rivers was having her throat surgery. The implication was that something went wrong with whatever gas they were giving her and she stopped breathing, as has been reported. According to this fourth-hand account, she is brain dead and they will pull the plug this week - but I hate rumors so take it with a grain of salt.

For me, the site seems to take a long time to post just about every other post (or click) to maybe every two out of three clicks. I use Firefox, but it seems to be happening when I use Internet Explorer, also.
