They don't offer flu shots until at least December here.

And, to add further insult to injury, I just got a chiding email from New World Records about not being home this afternoon.

I did go down and check the front door; there was no delivery attempt notice. I think the driver was running late, decided to falsify a number of attempted deliveries and then went home.

I ran into stuff like that with FedEx, too, Elmore.

Once I was sitting at the church in the office. Through my window I saw the FedEx driver get out without a package but with a tag, and walked up and put the tag on the door to the baby nursery (you could see cribs through the window) and went back to the truck and drove off before I could get out there. He never came to the building marked "Office." I always had to go to FedEx to pick up packages.

Hi everyone!  It's been a while.

Lots of things have gone down here in this lovely town of San Mateo in the last few months.  Some good, some not-so-good and others challenging and all mostly positive.

I journeyed to Europe in August.  It was a trip of a lifetime, Rome, Venice, Vienna, Bochum (yes, I stopped in Bochum to see Starlight Express and finishing off in Amsterdam.  My trip blog can be found HERE it's almost completed.

Palo Alto Players opens the west coast premiere of Andrew Lippa's Big Fish this weekend.  It's a great show and I'm very proud of it.

Other than that, DD Ben and I are dancing through life.

Welcome home and congrats on Big Fish!

My poor niece (the older one) got hit in the face today at recess. Her face smashed into her friend's face. Her friend has a fat lip and a headache. My niece's front tooth came out (not a baby tooth). She spent some time at the dentist. :(

Yikes!! :o

It sounds like the tooth will be saved-fingers crossed.

She and her friend should take their photos together and proudly show off their faces ;)

And FedEX didn't care when you reported him?

It is a shame you people don't have DR MBarnum's brother to deliver your FedEx packages.  We wish we still had him ;)

Because we are rural and packages may be left on our doorstep we don't often have problems like this.

Did you tell them to complain to FedEx & insist they return to make the delivery?

Nope. In fact, they told me it was the third delivery attempt and they would not attempt delivery again.

Thanks, DR George.  I'm off to the theatre REALLY early.  The orchestra is in a separate room as the pit is being used for the "lake" in the show.  Tonight is the first night with the orchestra.  I want this to work and I have faith in our sound designer.  Vibes might be needed for our rehearsal tonight.

Just back from getting my seasonal flu shot. I asked about the quad, DR Cillaliz, but apparently there were production problems, and they aren't expecting any supply of that here for at least another month. So I got the regular shot.
Interesting. I had no idea that it was in limited supply

Good morning. I went all the way up to a different mountain to hike this morning ... and the trails were closed. So I got a flu shot instead. I asked about the four-strain, but they didn't have it.

Wow, who knew Sioux City was the cutting edge of vaccination.

FINDING THE BEST ASSISTANT EVER VIBES FOR DR CILLA!!!

Thanks DR Jane.  I set up interviews for the two who dropped off resumes.  I also got a great resume from a lawyer down the hall.  I called and left a message, but haven't heard from the potential candidate yet

I don't think that there was that much pain.  The root stayed in.  She was rushed to an emergency dentist who put some kind of cap on her tooth.  It's unfortunate it had to be one of her adult teeth.  And class pictures are on Friday.

I still have two caps on my bottom front teeth from a similar incident on the playground in 4th grade.

Why would a lawyer with an office want to work as your assistant?  I know lawyers are struggling these days.

I always find that strange.  I think it is easier to get people in for shots while the weather is nice outside.

They will leave them on the doorstep here.  I have all mine delivered to the office so they won't get wet or freeze or get to hot sitting on the doorstep

LOL no, the lawyer down the hall had a resume she got after hiring someone. She thought I'd be interested.  I actually got two resumes that way but one of them was applying to be the bilingual director at a nonprofit and doesn't sound like he wants to be a legal assistant

Today was a much calmer day.   I did find out I have a jury trial on Tuesday I wasn't really expecting.  I'm still digging out, but it wasn't total chaos so I was able to actually sit down and get some work done.

While seasonal influenza outbreaks can happen as early as October, during most seasons influenza activity peaks in January or later. Since it takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body that protect against influenza virus infection, it is best that people get vaccinated so they are protected before influenza begins spreading in their community.

Last night I woke up at about 4:00 AM and heard the TV on in the next room.  I knew I didn't turn it on, so I got up and went in the room.  There was Ricky stretched out on the couch looking up at the tv that was doing a story about a guy who built cat shelves and tunnels and all sorts of stuff around his house.  I burst out laughing.   I'm guessing he stepped on the remote and turned the tv on, but who knows....he is a pretty smart cat
