So, we went out to pick up some dinner at one of the 2 boulangeries on our street and they were both closed.  We went across the street for a pizza.  We ate while watching BODY OF PROOF dubbed in French.

The scenery was much better while we ate lunch:

My mother and aunt arrive this evening, so I have been in a cleaning frenzy. With a dog that sheds copiously, it's never totally clean.
But now it is as good as it will get.

Good morning.

Yesterday was crappy.  Today is a new day.

That's all I got at the moment

I hope your new day has been better than yesterday.

Jane, here's the recipe I followed.

and here's their picture:

Thanks.  I prefer fresh meringue pumpkin pie to canned but these really intrigue me.   They look pretty.  Are you pleased with how they taste?

Have you looked to see if one of those Swiffer boxes was left on your front doorstep?

I was never a fan of Matzo Ball soup, kugel, or potato latkes at a deli.  My mother's were just sooooo much better.

I never like blintzes anywhere until I had Keith's mother's so the same goes for them.

One of my favorite dishes was chopped liver, until I had my mother in-laws which ruined it for all others.

My favorite deli foods were New Kosher Pickels, cole slaw (especially at Nate 'n Als), marbled halavah from the big slab, turkey sandwich on rye with seeds. Challah.  Egg bagels with cream cheese and nova scotia lox.

I guess I mentioned how much I like air conditioning too many times.  It's not working and it's 82 degrees inside.  Ugh!

I had a strange dream last night (or early this morning) that involved another Dear Reader.  I was in this room, and I think there were other people in the room; when Cillaliz came be-bopping into the room.  She was wearing bright red blouse or sweater and a bright green skirt.  She came up to me, and kind of twirled around like 'How do I look?'  So, I said something like, "Oh you are all set for Christmas."  And Cilla stopped turning and looked at me like. 'Duh!'  And she said, "This is for _______"  (And what she said was some club or organization or musical group or something else that I can't remember.)

That was it!  Short and sweet.  I have no idea what it means, and I think Jrand said the Dream O'Matic was broken, so who knows; but I wish I could remember what she said it means.

It sounds like a fun dream.

I checked weather.com and it shows 55% humidity-- I thought it was higher.

And also, German actor Joachim Fuchsberger has died. He was in all of those 1960s Edgar Wallace thrillers, which I remember watching often on the late, late  show when I was a kid.

Compared to our 13% humidity I would say it is humid there.  It is also 94 degrees here.
