I am very happy and very relieved. Seriously Myrna has all the qualifications I was looking for and both Bob and I really like her.  We're going to start part time on a trial basis, but I have a good feeling that this will work out

Is she going to also work for Bob part time or he will just enjoy having her in the office?

I am very pleased for you.

Her arms were warm as they welcomed me
Her eyes were a fire bright
And then I knew that my path must be
Through the ever haunted night

Good morning, all! I stayed up too late finishing The Hyde Park Headsman, and it liked it very much. I think I may make a trek to the Lincoln Center library at noon and drop off a pile of opera CDs that John McGlinn had checked out around 2009and never managed to return.

I need to call up the beautiful Richard Rodgers scrapbooks from 1925-1930 and look at all of the Chee-Chee clippings and programs. My thoughts on a song that was added late to the score in tryout and its performers does not agree with the conclusions of John McGlinn and Robert Kimball in The Complete Lyrics of Lorenz Hart, and I'm hoping the clippings may have an answer.

I hope they don't stick you with the overdue fine.

They did not.

DR Ginny, this photo?

Yes, DR Elmore - merci beaucoup!

We couldn't see the Eiffel Tower from our table under the red awnings, but it was nice to know it was there!

Here is an interesting Tacoma news flash!

There is a wild black bear wandering around Point Defiance Park and the surrounding neighborhood.

Hmm.  Guess who lives in the surrounding neighborhood?

Well we had a wonderful opening night last night.....quite a large crowd....and it was a good audience that was laughing from beginning to end.

We ended at about 10:30 p.m. which was good.

Banjo and Lorraine were the big hits of the evening, although everyone got their share of laughs.  I must say that I got applause twice in my first sequence....manhandling Miss Preen and then doing my "song" and dance.

Still working on applause on the egress.....we shall see.

Great news, Jrand!

Got coifed by Teddy, then did my part of the photo shoot.  I'm not that in to that kind of thing anymore, so I couldn't wait to finish, but I think they got some fun stuff with Sandy and me.  She'd already done about ninety minutes before I got there, and I'm sure they're still shooting now.

So, last night's run was much better than the night before.  Tonight we have our paid preview audience and tomorrow we open.

That's all I got.  Isn't that enough?

I was very disappointed last week when my book group discussion, at my house, fell apart and didn't happen.  I'm glad now that I canceled as one the most enthusiastic one in my group to read HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY had just lost her mother and couldn't make it.  Today she had, those of us who could go, over to watch the movie.  We followed it with a short discussion and compared the two.  It was a very nice afternoon.

I baked sour cream cookies for us to snack on and took them over in freezer bags to save.  She will need them next month when her family returns for the memorial on her mother's birthday.

Since I didn't host this month, and she is the hostess next month just before her family arrives, I will host next month and let her lead the discussion of the book she picked.

Has anyone read ME BEFORE YOU by Jojo Meyers?  It is our next book and I have been told it is excellent.

We discovered "The Lone Ranger" on a 16 and under educational programming and have been watching for a week now.  The commercials are hysterical.  We have funerals, medicare, a stair seat to ride up and down, and a log chipper.  We are sure those children are asking their parent's to purchase these for them, well maybe the stair chair  the chipper.  The chipper is actually cool if you chip enough logs ;)

Time to head to the theater...I'm ushering for a block party at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.  It'll essentially just be crowd control.  Easy as pie. :D

Be back later.
