Has anyone here ever met someone named Odile?   I haven't

Odile is the wicked daughter of the sorceror Von Rothbart in Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake. She is played by the prima ballerina who also plays Odette, the Swan Queen.

I've just come to the conclusion that today is Wednesday in Oakland CA.

Am hoping it is Wednesday where all of you are, as well.

Yes it is and I should have joined my Wednesday hiking group.  They went on my favorite hike on Mt. Ashland and to Echo & Sherlock's spot.  I decided my hip was not up to it.

I still go for an easy walk in the park and was able to go farther than I managed on Sunday.

From DR Cilla:
Quote
I'm doing better today. I worked all day on a brief for an immigration case. The brief would have had to be express mailed today, but around 3:00 pm I learned that the case had been continued until 2016.  Now it's not due for 2 year

Did you request an extension or does immigration control this & notify you?

Nope, they just changed it.  The government attorney clearly didn't know as he sent his exhibits and I received them today.  I have had this happen before so I called before sending.  The judge's clerk called this morning to let me know.  My case isn't high priority so it can be bumped

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity.  I'm glad it worked out well for you.

Just covers the gray, but it may perk me up a bit

Hmmm, I'm finally getting enough grey to be noticeable.  What just covers the grey?

Oh it's just a temporary color. Not sure which one, I just noticed the box up there when I was looking for something last night. I used to color my hair a lot but haven't done that in a long time.  Thought it might be a fun change

It is hard to find a temp color in a store, at least it has been for me.  Something that just got the grey out would be interesting to try, if it exists.

Fans of the late singer Nancy Lamott may want to contribute to this Kickstarter campaign:

We had like a two second power outage here.  Everything came right back up instantly except, of course, the computer, the router and the modem.  Got the computer started again, but Time Warner naturally was unable to handle a two second power outage and seemingly with never a back-up plan available, went down for an hour.  It just came back up.

I guess it's a good thing you weren't in the midst of comping, then.        :P

Looks like My Fair Lady will get the 50th anniversary Blu-ray treatment on December 9th.

Bruce:  Regarding this reissue of "MFL" on Blu ray....I've read some posts at HTF that suggest Robert Harris supervised this one, but I've seen nothing that corroborates that.

Do you know?

Never mind.  I found the thread where he indicates he has been slaving over it and that we will be astonished.

Cannot wait!

We have been busy sorting through clothing to donate to the town of Weed, CA, just an hour away from us.  The town has suffered from a large fire which included the loss of 150 structures, mostly homes.  A lumber mill, and largest employer, is pretty damaged.  The library is gone, a Catholic church and part of the elementary school.

I'm very impressed with the quick response in Southern California to help them.  After sorting clothes, shoes and a few other things I have read they don't really need clothes anymore.  Now I have to rethink what to take.  We have two large suit cases in the garage they should want.  I need to clean them up and double check they work.

I usually have a stock pile of unopened toiletries, not today.

Good morning. I spent the last few days visiting with a certain merchandise manager for a touring show.

Or as I told people, "I am going to Las Vegas to meet a man I met on the internet."

I am sure that  is all over the church by now!

We are singing a song about sparrows for the Blessing of the Animals in two week's time.
