I'm having a lazy day. I went to IHOP for breakfast then stopped at PETCO for many supplies I was out of.  The cats greeted me at the door as they always do when I say I went to PETCO. I intended to mow the yard, clean the house and do the laundry today, but after filling the dishwasher, I sat down and am still sitting here. The cats are all napping in the same room with me and we have the windows open.

I do need to venture to the grocery store and do some chores today. I really need to get the laundry done....glad I don't have plans tonight so I can just sit for awhile

Back with half an hour to spare before kick-off, despite all kinds of traffic problems between here and Mom's - an accident in the clean- up stages, garage sale and auction traffic in several neighborhoods, and a broken water main on Central Avenue.  I'm glad to be home!

DR Jennifer did you check the trash carefully?

The thing is they are so big that they would not fit in my small bedroom trash.

If amazon shipped for free here i would just buy a new pair.

Check the big trash.  I am shocked at the things I have found in the trash-seriously.

DR BwayAnge I like the photo of you and your dear mother.  Thank you for sharing it with us.

Since Mom has been gone, there have been so many instances when I feel she has given me a "hug" from above.  No, I'm no a nutjob!  Here's an example:

A year after Mom passed -- some friends wanted to go to NYC.  As I was researching for the best hotel rates, I came across the following photo and see folks walking in a cross walk.  I'm like -- OMG -- it's Me and Mom -- she's in the greenish jacket on the right and I'm following in the light blue jacket.

Talk about goose bumps.  The B&B was called the Broadway Inn, but it's no longer around.   :)

DR JRand64, this will be a performance for the anecdotes! You will be part of a legendary community theatre performance. DR Ginny and I were in a turkey production of Auntie Mame where the drnks caught everything on fire.

this is too funny, but may I ask -- where they drunks or drinks?  LOL

I was about to ask teh same questions

DR Laura I've been seeing monarchs a lot in the past week or two.  That's about a month later than the usual migration through this area.   Haven't seen great numbers together, but have seen them almost every day this past week

I just had two fly past me this afternoon and thought of DR Laura

I'd like a vowel, please! It was drinks; in the play they're "flaming mamies" or something, and the glasses were filled too full and the flames and fluid poured over the side of the cups onto the  stage. It was the capper to an awful, scenically ugly. and for the most part badly miscast production - DR Ginny was always good! - but something I'd love to forget ever being involved in.

and it  is not likely it will happen

We served 100+ meals at the Soup kitchen  -

I found about 20 ice cream sandwiches in the freezer  and had about 15 kids  at meal, so I had the great joy of sneaking around the dining hall, slipping one on a child's tray  while whispering  "Say nothing!  I don't have any for the grownups!"

The memories of the surprised smiles I received will brighten many a dark moment

In about 30 minutes we are off to a "hoe down" at a firehouse.  One of the officers/members is a life long member of my church and he invited us along
