And I am home!

I had a long 3-hour orchestration-choral tutorial with a composer who asked for some help with a holiday number. I enjoyed it immensely. I think he felt I was beating him up at times.

Larry, have you ever thought about teaching orchestrating in a college?  When I was going to college to be a choir teacher (which, fortunately for everyone, didn't happen), I had to take an orchestrating class.  The guy just basically read the book and it wasn't a very good experience for many of the students who took that class, including me.  Anyway, I'm sure that you'd be excellent at it.  You're actually in the business...and you love doing it.

Just a thought. :)

This sounds like a great idea.

They were looking at a mobile reader device for the Iphone or Ipad....and the more I read about it, the less I like it....

So I am glad someone had a fit and postponed the whole thing.

Our tickets are $10 across the board.....so we're doing okay.

I have a machine that hooks into my land line.  I didn't want the wireless thing.  I can do it with or without a card.  I like it, but I also charge more than $10

I, too, found the new judge situation interesting. Cilla, I suspect your instincts are correct about tiring of the restrictions in a few years, had you gotten the position. Vibes that Mynra proves to be a gem and the next chapter of your law practice is very fulfilling.

Thanks so much.  It's only day 4 and today I asked Myrna to see how much notice her other job needed for her to quit and work for me full time.  (She wants to do that)   She's still got a ton to learn, but with only 4 hours a day at my office, there just isn't enough time to really learn much.   I insisted that she find out how much notice they want as I don't want to do to someone else what was done to me

DR vixmom, since you didn't like my comment about that medicare commercial with that insincerely perky actress asking her husband if he did his pushups, I will tell you one commercial I love and that makes me laugh every time I see it: State Farm Insurance, where the jealous wife catches her husband on the phone at 3am talking to Jake at State Farm, and she grabs the phone and says "what are you wearing, Jake at State Farm?" and Jake answers "Uh . . .khakis."

And the wife says to her husband, "She sounds hideous," and her husband responds with something like, "Yeah, well she's a guy."

I just laugh; its so wonderful and absurd.

I was supposed to make a trip to visit a client in prison tomorrow.  It's about 3 1/2- 4 hours one way.  I was reviewing the website and noticed that I can set up a 25 minute unmonitored unrecorded legal call at this facility with 5 days notice.   So, I'm not going.  I know my client will be disappointed because she doesn't have a lot of visitors but it's just too far and I'm too tired. I've been there a couple times so she knows me, but this is a court appointment and I'm not paid for travel time, so, at some point I have to draw the line.  The cats were pleased

I would love to be a guest lecturer for a term, and I've been looking into such a situation. No fish have taken the bait yet, but I'm hoping!

Cool!  Good luck!!

And the beginning where he says "Yeah, I'm married, does it make a difference?"   That's one of my favorites too

It's so quirky and the actors are so brilliant with the dialogue. I love the lady who plays the wife.

In about forty minutes or so I shall be on my way for the final evening of mixing.  Most of what we're doing tonight is the smaller band - only a couple or maybe even one full - then it's just strings and a reed or two, so those mixes are much simpler to do.

We attempted to watch "Behind the Candelabra", however, the new disc from Netflix did not work.  We told them not to send this to us again.

Emigrant Lake, a man made lake down the road from us, is normally low by the end of summer but this is ridiculous.  I took this photo of the lake yesterday.

It is kind of fun to walk through a lake, especially when you walk on what was once a road to enter.

Rob and I did a major shopping for Mom and I came home exhausted.  Fixed soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner for Richard and me and left the housemates on their own.  I think they had breakfast for dinner.
