MAGIC TO DO
« on: September 26, 2014, 12:08:26 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had magic to do, and now it is time for you to post until the magical cows come home - or in their case, the MOOgical cows.

I always love reading about the ins and outs of the recording studio.

Sorry I was so scarce yesterday.

The morning was spent at Rosh Hashannah services. This was the first year in about 25 that I was merely an attendee rather than a participant singer. The sermon was interesting - it was a very young, tech-savvy rabbi, and at various points she paused, asked a question of those in attendance, and then encouraged people to text their responses, which then appeared on a big screen up front, and with which she then interacted. I have heard of this technology being used at conferences, but never in a worship service.

Then we spent the afternoon and evening with friends visiting from back east.

A lovely, but long, day!

This morning, I have an early appointment for blood work.

This evening, I will be DVRing Sweeney Todd, as I will not be home, attending a free choral concert just down the street.

Good morning, all! It's a quiet morning

I have a quiet couple of hours before I head down to City Center, hand Joshie a gift I've had for some time for him, and schlep home some Paint Your Wagon work. Before I head there, I've got to tidy up the apartment a bit.

I just heard from Joshie, who's asked me not to come to City Center since he's still photocopying scores for me.  Instead, he and his brother Jeremy will be carting things to me later this afternoon.  It will be fun to see them, and we'll have a nice visit as well.

I will spend the time cleaning off my desk, because it's become the repository of everything I'm carting home from Toyland, and now I have to put the crap away!

TOD:

I will be watching the final 6 episodes of SPARTACUS: The Complete Series.

Once you get by the overly gratuitous blood, gore, nudity and sex and concentrate on the story itself, this is a pretty good series; well acted.

I was particularly impressed with Lucy Lawless.  I never saw her play "the warrior princess," but she is quite good in this.

Again with the four and a half hours of sleep.  Maybe I'll try and go back to bed in an hour.  For now, liner notes to write.

Friday morning greetings!  I logged in earlier to see the photos DR BwayAnge posted last night and forgot to make my morning post before we left fir Richard's appointment with the carpal tunnel surgeon.  We're now waiting for a call from the surgery center to get that scheduled.

DR DRUXY - Lucy Lawless is one of the bright spots of SPARTACUS, but I enjoyed it....the first season in particular.

I missed the original Spartacus, Andy Whitfield, when he died after filming the first season....the subsequent seasons were okay....

Well DR CHAS SMITH....I think I have told you....

How do you know when a soprano is at your front door?

She can't find her key, and she doesn't know when to come in.

Last night our land line rang at 2:20 a.m.  It was a wrong number.  Even the dog got up to investigate.

Somebody started telling musician jokes the other night, and I'd heard almost none of them.  Silly stuff, but so damned funny.

Like, what's the difference between a bull and an orchestra?
