Well I like The Way you Look Tonight....but maybe...it was a little snobish about a new art form....(if they only KNEW)

Actually, "Sweet Leilani" won the Best Song Oscar the year the SNOW WHITE songs would have been eligible. The score was nominated for best Score (won by ONE HUNDRED MEN AND A GIRL).

Jose, thanks for the clarification about burgers at Joe Allen's and the time between 4pm and 8pm. I knew that and was going to say it in the post but it slipped by.

Ollies is fun (it's in the heart of Times Square on 44th just west of Broadway) and at 5pm it shouldn't be too crowded. I don't know if they take reservations. I'll see what I can find out. I'm going to the Broadway Cares Street Fair tomorrow and part of it will be across from Ollie's so I'll drop in and see what they say.

Clay Aiken sang last year on the Pageant and it didn't bring in any more viewers. I doubt his participation this year will either.

I enjoyed watching those old Miss America shows on Trio.

I have only seen MR. AND MRS. SMITH once in my life, and wasn't overly fond of it, but I'm certainly willing to give it another chance. But it'll be at the bottom of the stack. Looking forward eventually to FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT and then I CONFESS, another Hitchcock that others don't like and I do.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith is a guilty pleasure...it's SO not Hitchcock...and one wonders what would he have done with Lombard in one of his "REAL" films.  But it's the men who shine.  Montgomery is great....so is Rayburn....(maybe tooooo much better).  But there are a few set pieces that are SOOOooooo good....in Hitch's work....and the actors....is a B....maybe a B+

The only film of his I haven't seen is Under Capricorn....but "think" I've seen bits....enjoy Mr. & Mrs. Smith.....it's a "screwball" type of film...just pretend it's directed by someone else....then think back upon it....and see how it fits into his entire work....(can't think about trying trying to spell oeuver....or whatever)

UNDER CAPRICORN is my absolute LEAST favorite Hitchcock and that includes TOPAZ, JAMAICA INN, THE PARADINE CASE (which I really like but most others loathe; a true guilty pleasure for me).

Since no one can make "worth" rhyme with "bull pucky," what's to discuss?  ("Pucky" rhymes with "ducky" and "lucky," but with "worth?" Not a chance on earth.  And even that's pushing it.)
