King of click: the story of the greatest keyboard ever made
Emulated, replicated, and tweaked for 30 years, IBM's Model M is the forefather of modern keyboard design

http://www.theverge.com/2014/10/7/6882427/king-of-keys

I think I have one of these keyboards in my garage!  I know I have something that's at least very similar.  I'll have to look tonight (if I remember).

Hello All:

BK, I also saw GONE GIRL and I agree with some of our comments.  However I thought Neil Patrick Harris was very good in the role he played.

I would rate this movie 8/10, however I really was disappointed in it.

What wild dreams I had last night!

One involved chasing and being chased. There were car chases and guns and time travel.  Whew!

I had a really strange dream about Anderson Cooper

I enjoyed the novel Gone Girl. No, it wasn't great literature, but it was a fun read.  Haven't seen the film.

I'm going to read the book.  I really wonder if the ending is the same.

DR GEORGE - Indiana does the same....state employees work on Columbus Day in order to have the Friday after Thanksgiving as a paid holiday.

BK, totally agree with you on Neil Patrick Harris in Gone Girl.  He just wasn't believable in that part to me.    I also agree that I never thought for a minute Ben Affleck's character did anything wrong.

I am glad it's Columbus Day.  I don't mind celebrating him. Most of the people we celebrate have a dark side, so it is what it is.  I'm glad because I don't feel well at all today and I can stay easily stay home

Andrea and Adam - the happy couple - are in San Francisco this week for their honeymoon.....they are posting some lovely photos of places they are visiting.  It is Andrea's first time in the city, but Adam has been there before.

They ended their wedding day with a carriage ride back to their hotel last Saturday.

I thank those of you who posted anti-cold vibes. I was sure I was taking enough zinc and vitamin C to fight one off.

Monday-- Columbus Day.

It is a Federal Holiday.   The City and County work today, because they traded Columbus Day for Cesar Chavez Day (I think).   There is garbage pick-up but no mail delivery.

Superior Court ids open, but the Court of Appeals and District Court are closed.

Very confusing.

We don't have the day off.  If I remember correctly, years ago state workers negotiated to work Columbus Day so that they could get the day after Thanksgiving off.  That's why we have a four-day weekend at Thanksgiving.  The library follows the state and federal holidays that the state workers get.

Smart move to get the Friday off instead.

Seriously? You don't mind celebrating someone who murdered thousands? Pimped little kids? Dumped live humans overboard so he could use their dead bodies as directional devices?

Oh, boy, am I in the wrong place? Who else do we celebrate that committed atrocities on this scale? Please tell me, as I have no problem with being "politically correct" (a new fangled phrase for basic empathy combined with politeness) and would gladly stop celebrating holidays named after them!

Sorry friends. Maybe I am just in a wrong mood today, but this takes the cake.

The city and state here don't have the holiday but the federal courts, the banks and the post office do.  It's confusing
