And now, I need to take a shower, get dressed, eat, get some programs printed and go to the show.

Every time I go to one of the lakes in northern AZ, I fill a big trash bag with trash. Lots of fishing line.

The litter left behind is not only annoying but very sad to see.

It has been kindly pointed out to me that I can remain on the board without having to see anything that I do not wish to see, so that is exactly what I shall do.

Eggsactlee.  And that's a good thing.

Started some Netflix movie that looked like it might be interesting - after five minutes I realized that looks can be deceiving.

Saturday morning greetings!  Weird night here - I think Mary Linda's the only one who wasn't up for some part of it.  Richard had some stomach distress that I blame on the anesthetic and Paramedic Rob came in handy.  I'm the only one up so far, waiting on the new dishwasher.

It must have been bad if you got Rob up to help.  I hope Richard is feeling better by now.

I apparently live exactly the distance from the mcdonalds that it takes to eat a meal because I constantly have mcdonalds bags with the. Empty wrappings left on my lawn thrown from cars by persons very concerned with the cleanliness of their cars

That would drive me up a wall.

From DR TCB:

Some people on Facebook are saying we should ban all news coverage of school shootings.

I think the news should stop talking about the shooters and showing their photos.  Just say shooter and talk about the people that were killed or injured.

Well, Rob was still up because he has his days and nights reversed from working 3 third shifts in a row.  He had things under control by the time I was aware of any commotion.

Richard is feeling better and I'm fixing tuna glop, peas, and corn muffins for him for dinner.

One of my pet peeves is when you let someone go ahead of you and they don't say thank you.  It is bad enough when they don't way a thank you from a car but when you hold the door open and they just breeze on past you.  Same think in a market when you stop your cart and let the person have room to pass.  I've been known to shout "your welcome" which embarrasses the heck out of Keith.

TOD:

The apartments in the building next to mine all have balconies. It's a three-story building, so that's three balconies that face my side of my building. When the residents of said apartments clean they sweep and toss all manner of stuff onto the small grassy area between the two buildings. My neighbor downstairs keeps a little container garden in what would otherwise be wasted space and thus comes into contact with the neighboring building's trash. WHAT is there and HOW MUCH is there is a frequent topic of conversation among residents of my building. We are usually aghast.

Jane, this bugs me, too. There was a time when drivers generally did thank others, but now it's far less common. As for holding doors, I find it rude to let a door close in someone's face. To me, it's not a gender issue--it's just common courtesy. Most men, in my experience, do thank me when I hold a door. I'm sorry to say that most young women do not. They seem to expect others to do that for them.

When I was growing up I'd often see "Don't be a litterbug" signs and other emphasis on taking your trash with you. I don't see much of that now. Several cities I've lived in do make more of an effort now to have a sufficient number of trash cans around to accommodate those who wish to keep things clean. That helps.

DR Cilla I enjoyed the beautiful autumn photos.

I did, too.  The one of the golden tree in front of the white house looks like our neighborhood.

About half the people at the Y hold the door or say thank you, the other half don't.  Keith has held the door while people continue on through without once saying thank you or offer to hold it.  I'm not sure age is a factor though I do believe on the hole older people are more polite.  We have seen very polite children there as well.  I especially enjoy seeing children hold the door and I blame their parent's for not teaching them manners.

I had a great swim at the Y today.  While swimming I also do exercises and stretches at each end of the pool.  Today, for the first time in several days, I was able to turn my head to my left.  It was nice while it lasted.  I'm beginning to lose some of my mobility.

As I mentioned yesterday, it has been extremely windy here.  We were relieved one of the regulars at the Y did not ride his bike today.  He would have been blown over.
