Well, you've read the notes, they don't make the notes like that anymore, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they don't make the cows like that anymore either.

Today is the last performance of Theater Artists Olympia's production of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [revised]."  It was a great show and even though everyone who saw it really enjoyed it, we just didn't have a LOT of audience members.  We did, however, end up making a profit. :D

It's 5:30 on Sunday morning on the East coast, but after a wonderful early dinner with a cousin who was in from out of town and his fiancee, I fell asleep rather early last night.

This is the cousin from PA who's a very funny comedian-on-the-rise (as well as being a local Scranton reporter)  who had as a comic tag line for quite a while "Why do women hate me?  Must be the goddam economy."

But now that he has a terrific fiancee, he'll either have to use that line only in character, or find another catch-phrase.  :)

Good morning, all!

I will be heading down to Toyland very shortly.  I want to drop off some things, pick up a few books and be home as quickly as possible.  In the past week, preparing to ship some things out of here,  I've created a shelving mess in my apartment that I will obsess over until it's tidy again.

Good morning, all.

Great news, George, on the show turning a profit. That's always good.

(And thanks, George, for Sweeney. It arrived in yesterday's mail.)

Yesterday I had a friend over and we watched a movie from Amazon Prime called Homecoming (Not to be confused with the Pinter play The Homecoming or the The Walton's pilot film: The Homecoming: A Christmas Story)  that even Gloria Graham couldn't have saved. If won was to pitch this movie to producers t would be Misery meets Fatal Attraction and a Saturday Night Lights with Fargo weather. Mercifully it ran only 88 minutes and we caught a blooper (shot inconsistency). It played a few cities in July and then went to Lifetime in September. (Minus some language and violence)

Good morning, all.

Crazy, classic dreams last night.  Honestly, I should never have stopped writing dreams down.  At least the big ones.  But I did give that up long ago and I'm not starting again.  Takes too much time and effort.  But it would be fascinating to have documented those dream themes that are one's constants.

Then my friend told me about Crackle on Apple TV an we watched two episodes of All in The Family. We both had seen them of over the years and they are both still funny. Can't say that about most tv comedy series these days. Plus they run 5 minutes with opening and closing credits and the few extra minutes of story plot doesn't feel as the story is being rushed. They really do not make shows like All in the Family.

Another too busy day. Who knows how many hours of dance practice followed by a belated birthday dinner with a friend that neither of us had been able to schedule until now.

I'm make an apple-cherry pie.  Hopefully I'll find the time to get that made.

After he left I watch a documentary called American Grindhouse. An interesting film that talked about movies that played Grindhouse cinemas.

It was informative not knowing that it actually began with silent films evolved into tent show curcuit. They included Film Noit movies which I thought was interesting.

There were the heath/hygiene films
The Nudie Cuties which became The Roughies.
and then as times changed politically, socially and economically so did the films.

So of the films clips were gross with over the top violence that they really were absurdist theatre.

Some of the talking heads were weird, but more notable ones (At least to me) John Dante, John Landis, Larry Cohen, Herschell Gordon Lewis. (Lewis actually lives about 25 minutes from)

Not a bad documentary. It could have been longer to focus a little bit more on each "genre" or they could have dropped the silent era and focus more in the "contemporary" era

Greetings from Toyland!  On Sunday mornings the 104 bus runs about every 30 minutes, so I took a taxi to 64th and Broadway ro catch the next 7 bus, paid the driver, and a 7 bus pulled right up! Thanks to no traffic, I was here in less than 15 minutes. I've unpacked my tthings, selected what I will take home, and I hope to be heading back uptown in about 30 minutes.

Sunday morning greetings!  Our household's younger generation is off to church, but the old folks are staying home.  I crashed about 9:30 last night and slept much better than the night before.

And it is time to head uptown. I've once again selected too much to carry, so I need to pull a few things and close up shop for the day.  I'll come back on Wednesday or more.
