Well, you've read the notes, the notes were painful, and now it is time for you to post until the painful cows come home.

The Midtown International Theatre Festival awards event was quite a do, well beyond what i was expecting in terms of the size and planning of the event.

The thing that I’d been told by several who've been there to get ready for but still was surprised and overwhelmed by, was the amazing joy of  having created a “star vehicle” and have the star of that vehicle, Jennifer Pace,  get the Outstanding Actress award in a tremendously competitive category.

A chat friend who gets to the point asked if it was as good as the show overall getting one of the other nominated awards?  As I told him, I’ll never know that, but Jennifer’s win as Best Actress at that moment felt like a win for our whole company of five.

The awards our show was up for were all in the first half, and while the awards for the overall shows went (as the buzz expected) to John Frida’s stellarly ambitious Alien Adventure, it was a thrill to hear us in the nominations alongside so much work that I’d admired in the festival.

Sorry about your tooth, Bruce.  Wishing you a speedy and painless resolution (or at least as painless and speedy--- and cheaply-- as possible).

Tuesday morning greetings!  I crashed last night after the AAUW board meeting.  Today I have some errands to do and, of course, there are thunderstorms predicted.

Thanks, Ginny!

I had hoped, and it looked like there was going to be a "red carpet" as one approached the theater, but it turned out to be people just doing a little random filming (maybe for YouTube later on?).  Many people were dressed up ultra-fabulously, especially some of the people who were going to perform.  If they do put some of the outfits online, I'll look for them and try to link them.
