If you have any avocado it is soft and can be added to the eggs for flavor.

I am a cross between Ben and TCB, back when I thought my demise was possibly more imminent I gave instructions that there was to be no wake, and that I was to be cremated.  I do want a memorial service in church though... on a weekend or evening  to avoid inconveniencing people

When you are in to genealogy and visiting grave sites it seems odd to be cremated, but that is what I think we will do.  Either way, we will be together.

Services are for the living and I don't think my family will care if there is one for me.  I would like someone to say Kadish.  I suppose I should let my wishes be known on this one ;D

When my mom was killed, we realized that she had never mentioned her wishes to anyone.  So we buried her next to my sister's father-in-law.  I had no plans of my own, so I bought the plot next to my mom.  One big happy family.  At least everybody knows what I want.  All of the burial costs are taken care of, but I will let my sister my the casket!

What I want to know is: can we double up and use "76 Trombones" for Sunday morning's anthem?

That depends are you ELCA  or LCA?

actually  probably only John G will get that joke

You left out LCMS.

LOL!

And now, I'm leaving work to go to see the filmed stage play, "Frankenstein," this time with Jonny Lee Miller as The Creature and Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Frankenstein.  I'll be fun to compare both performances.

Until later!

I wanted to go see these and forgot to buy tickets in time  I hope it come out on DVD

No, they didn't say anything about straws.

there is a reason why no straws  but I forget what it is    I am not allowed to drink through a  straw for  72 hours prior to having a PET scan

Well, this is pretty interesting...Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol, Benefit for Actors Fund, Will Feature Christopher Sieber, Betsy Wolfe, John Bolton, Jennifer Cody.

Quote
The Actors Fund will present a one-night benefit concert presentation of Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol — based on the prime-time animated holiday special — Dec. 15 at 7:30 PM at The Gerald W. Lynch Theatre at John Jay College.

Directed by Peter Flynn with musical direction by Emmy Award winner John McDaniel and choreography by Marcos Santana, the cast will include Jeff Blumenkrantz, John Bolton, Jennifer Cody, Don Darryl Rivera, Matthew Scott, two-time Tony Award nominee Christopher Sieber and Betsy Wolfe.

The evening will also feature the original orchestrations — heard live for the first time — with a full orchestra.

Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol features a score by composer Jule Styne and lyricist Bob Merrill. The musical is described as "a delightful retelling of the Dickens classic, featuring the comically myopic cartoon character Quincy Magoo."

Originally airing in December 1962, "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol" was the first animated holiday special ever produced specifically for television.

him I wonder how much the tickets will cost?

Speaking of John G -  what a great opportunity !  Do you need someone to come along and sharpen your pencils?

No. A friend will be visiting from out of town that week. I would have asked TCB, but there's that sticky wicket about the restraining order he mentioned.

Is that a normal thing to eat, an avocado omelet?  Would it be good with cheese, too?

In San Antonio, it's normal to eat avocado with everything practically. I know of one place that has an avocado margarita. And yes, add cheese.

Enjoying Fading Gigolo, though I probably would not have liked it as much in the theater.

John Turturro is wonderful and Woody Allen is, well, Woody Allen.

Update on my knee.
I am still in a lot of pain and hard for me to walk without the walker or cane. I am scheduled to go back to the doctor on the Nov 11, but I am going to ask if I can go next week.

Glad that bk's dental problem was resolved for now. Having had a LOT of dental work done over the past year, I would say that I hate extractions much more than fillings or root canals, because they are more invasive and much more labor intensive in the recovery. The prime objective is to let the clot form and then not do anything (like drinking through a straw) to disturb it. Believe you me, you do NOT want to get dry socket.

Since you can't brush in that area for a while, they probably also suggested that you start gargling gently with salt water starting tomorrow afternoon.

I have given my instructions to the church organist: "Onward Christian Soldiers" (which my church will not sing) sung boisterously, meatballs served at the luncheon afterwards, and no one older than me washing the dishes.

I like it, Laura!  (Especially the dish washing part)

We sang  Onward Christian Soldiers   a few weeks ago  I was very surprised as I had not heard it sung for years
