THE WEIRD AND THE WEIRDER

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both weird and weirder, and now it is time for you to post until the weird and weirder cows come home.

Topic of the Day:  Fortunately, I have never had any problems with reservations.  Someone else has made all reservations that I've had. :)

Hammacher Schlemmer is offering a life-size Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton replica for only $100,000. Or you can purchase just the skull for $9,500.

I think I would order the skeleton WITHOUT the skull. Just for kicks. And think how much money I would save!

A bit scary to hear BK's hotel problems.

Good morning, all!  I am off to Toyland, and I will check in from there.

Good news about the reservation, BK! I have a vague memory something like that happened to me once but it's way too vague now.

DR TCB, yes, GRIMM was fun last night. I'v always liked the show.  I used to faithfully watch ONCE UPON A TIME, but I got sick of Disney throwing into the mix its (per)versions of fairy tales. When they added characters from FROZEN this year, instead of Andersen's THE SNOW QUEEN, I decided they should go fuck themselves.

Wow - no one on the television commercials ever has a situation as described by MR BK.  Maybe that would be more realistic.

The only problem I have ever had with any kind of reservation was caused by the PERSON who said he/she was making the reservation - and then didn't, or didn't do it correctly.

If you are a CAR TALK fan there will be a tribute show hosted by RAY MAGLIOZZI.  It plays 10am on most NPR stations I guess.

We are mourning the loss of a 21 year old woman  the best friend on my friend's daughter.  She broke down on the highway was on the shoulder well away from traffic. The town truck had just arrived to take her to safety when a 51 year old man drove right into the back if her car at speed the speed limit there is 55 and he was probably exceeding that he never braked. Her car was  destroyed as was the life's of her family and friends.  The same age as my Vixter...

A terrible and totally avoidable tragedy

I worked very late last night.  My coworker who was out for 9 months last year after having a cancerous kidney removed followed by a lumpectomy and radiation  went for her routine 6 month screening and was told the insidious monster has returned.  She meets with her surgeon Tuesday

Saturday morning greetings!  I'm scheduled to work at the Holiday Bazaar from 11-1 today, after which I'm going grocery shopping. Have to be home by 3:30 for a college football double header - Michigan/Northwestern followed by Michigan State/Ohio State.  Go, Blue!  Go, Green!

DR vixmom, I heard the news report on your friend's death. I am so sorry.  I was angry when I heard the news and I'm angrier now that I know someone involved in the tragedy.

Both the stories are terrible DR Vixmom. :(

Was the girl (and her car) on the shoulder of the road?  Or she was on the shoulder but her car was still on the road?  I am trying to understand how someone could run into a car in either place.

TOD:
We were in the middle of a stay at cheap hotel in Manhattan (if there is such a thing) when we came back to the room after being out for the day, and found the door was padlocked. Apparently, something had gone wonky with our credit card and the hotel wasn't getting paid. We gave them a different credit card and they removed the padlock.
