I saw this photo and immediately thought of DR Chas.

That makes for a very nice Page Five Coffee Dance, DR TCB.

Today's drama:

So there I was, early this morning, in my jammies and checking my email and reading the news. I knew the plumber was in the apartment next door because of the noise. The noise got louder and LOUDER, until finally I got up and looked into my bathroom, which abuts the neighbor's bathroom. The plumber's snake had made it over to my side and had drilled a sizable hole right through the drain from my bathroom sink. Oy! In the process it had pushed open the cabinet doors and pushed out all the stuff I had stored under the sink, ie, toilet paper (I'd just purchased a large package), cleaning products, paper towels, etc onto the floor. Everything was covered with dirt and grit from the drain.

I'm just glad I was home when this happened and was able to grab the plumber RIGHT NOW. I'd hate to come home to this mess and then have to wait several days until he fit me in.

He has now replaced the drain pipe and I have now cleaned up HIS mess. The manager bought me a fresh package of toilet paper to make up for the inconvenience.

I was reminded of DR Elmore's bathroom ceiling fiasco and was thankful this was over in just a few hours.

How lucky that you could get that taken care of immediately, DR Jeanne!

And now let me admit my confounded ignorance, because I've read your post three times and I don't get how that could even happen.  A plumber's snake goes down a drain.  How in the name of all that is holy does it manage to come out in another apartment???

Back from a quick jaunt to the market.   I have some lasagna in the microwave (Michael Angelo's "small batch from scratch").

Miss Tillie greeted me at the gate, walked through the front door with me and began a caterwauling that let me know she was lonesome and wanted attention.  So she got some and then some more and then some more.   She is slowly accepting that I like to pick up my kitties and snuggle 'em.  At any rate, she is happy for the moment.

Thank goodness tomorrow is a work day.  And Thursday, as well.

I do have Friday off, but that's Friday, Saturday AND Sunday here.  The homeowners return sometime Sunday afternoon.

What a joy it will be to return to my abode.

I hope more reservations are getting made.  I jumped on getting mine the morning they went on sale because I figured, what with all the people in NYC who would attend something like this, I'd better not dally.  Not that I would have dallied, anyway, but, you know...

Anyhoo, I'm bringing two guests from Connecticut to the first show.  Now I wish I'd corralled a bunch more.  Which is easier said than done, considering the logistics.  People like me tend to laugh in the face of logistics, but other people get hung up on them.

It sounds quite unreal, right? It's certainly not something I ever thought could happen.

The only thing I can thing of is that both bathrooms share a common drain and that instead of the snake going down, it went across. As long as there are no REAL snakes, I'm OK. REAL snakes would really freak me out--and I'm usually pretty calm.

After several announced dates, there is finally an Amazon listing for Skip's (and Ellen's and Tom's) show HERRINGBONE which says it will be released on December 2.

I think this link should work:
http://www.amazon.com/Herringbone-Concert-Recording-BD-Wong/dp/B00P9FC00Y
Tony Award-Winner BD WONG makes his solo CD debut in a unique concert recording of the demanding one man, Off-Broadway musical HERRINGBONE, in which Wong plays 12 characters who sing 14 songs. It was recorded live at a special event for Dixon Place in New York City. This is also the first recording of this marvelously spooky show by Skip Kennon (music), Ellen Fitzhugh (lyrics), & Tom Cone (book, based upon his play). In two acts, it was recorded with a live audience, and is presented in its entirety in a two CD digipak featuring photos from the production.

Not to sound snarky, but it's about time! I participated through Kickstarter to help get the cd produced.

As did I.  And I hope that us Kickstarter funders will still get it on Tuesday, November 18th, 2014, as specified in the latest updated on Kickstarter.  :)
