I'd love to see a production of HERRINGBONE. Glad to hear about the new CD.

I hope DR GEORGE got his laundry done finally.

Some, but not all.  It'll never end.

Well, I feel like Faye Dunaway in CHINATOWN: I'm sick-it's allergies-I'm sick-it's allergies-I'm sick-it's allergies, and I guess I'm sick. Not only is my head stopped up but my gastrointestinal system is very unhappy at the moment. I did use the neti pot to wash out my sinuses, and i've taken Chlortrimeton for allergies, but my stomach is now behaving like Vesuvius.

So, i guess some days you just have to let things work themselves out and keep out of the way.  It's better now than later in the week, but damn!

Today's drama:

So there I was, early this morning, in my jammies and checking my email and reading the news. I knew the plumber was in the apartment next door because of the noise. The noise got louder and LOUDER, until finally I got up and looked into my bathroom, which abuts the neighbor's bathroom. The plumber's snake had made it over to my side and had drilled a sizable hole right through the drain from my bathroom sink. Oy! In the process it had pushed open the cabinet doors and pushed out all the stuff I had stored under the sink, ie, toilet paper (I'd just purchased a large package), cleaning products, paper towels, etc onto the floor. Everything was covered with dirt and grit from the drain.

I'm just glad I was home when this happened and was able to grab the plumber RIGHT NOW. I'd hate to come home to this mess and then have to wait several days until he fit me in.

He has now replaced the drain pipe and I have now cleaned up HIS mess. The manager bought me a fresh package of toilet paper to make up for the inconvenience.

I was reminded of DR Elmore's bathroom ceiling fiasco and was thankful this was over in just a few hours.

Yikes!!  Yes, it could've been a LOT worse. :-\

SPOILER for "CASTLE":

[SPOILER DELETED]

END SPOILAGE.

MINOR SPOILAGE:  What surprised me was that Javier and Kevin weren't in that last scene.  I know it happened quickly, but I think that they should've been included...but that's just me.

At seven tonight, we're shooting a little video for a Kickstarter or Indiegogo campaign (we haven't decided which it will be yet) - this is one of two we're going to do in the next few months.  This one is for our Feb production of the Doug Haverty and Adryan Russ musical, Inside Out.  The campaign will start sometime next week.  Lots of good and fun perks for the donors.  We do have to raise a bit of dough for the production, but we're donating a good percentage of ticket sales to a breast cancer foundation, so in the end it's all going to a good cause.  This will be the show's twentieth anniversary production - it opened off-Broadway twenty years ago at the Cherry Lane Theater.

Sounds exciting, BK!  Good luck!

After several announced dates, there is finally an Amazon listing for Skip's (and Ellen's and Tom's) show HERRINGBONE which says it will be released on December 2.

I think this link should work:
http://www.amazon.com/Herringbone-Concert-Recording-BD-Wong/dp/B00P9FC00Y
Tony Award-Winner BD WONG makes his solo CD debut in a unique concert recording of the demanding one man, Off-Broadway musical HERRINGBONE, in which Wong plays 12 characters who sing 14 songs. It was recorded live at a special event for Dixon Place in New York City. This is also the first recording of this marvelously spooky show by Skip Kennon (music), Ellen Fitzhugh (lyrics), & Tom Cone (book, based upon his play). In two acts, it was recorded with a live audience, and is presented in its entirety in a two CD digipak featuring photos from the production.

Preordered!

Good second day of work vibes for DR SINGDAW.

I hope DR GEORGE got his laundry done finally.

DR CILLA LIZ - I finally watched ABOUT TIME by the director of LOVE, ACTUALLY......it was great....and I highly recommend it.....the previews made it look like an entirely different kind of movie than it really was.

If you like one, I think you will like the other.
Thanks for the recommendation.

I agree, Ron, based on what Zive read of DWTS this seaon. But Tommy will be gone next week.

Tommy is there because he's Chong.  We all know that.  Leah doesn't have the fan base he does and she doesn't have the fan base of Duck Dynasty, so I expected her to leave.  DWTS doesn't pretend to be a true dancing competition and never has.

Shot the sound bytes and then we went to a barbecue place called Boneyard in Sherman Oaks.  Absolutely spectacular.

Thanks, DRs Jrand64 and TCB! Work went well on the second day. A lot of technical and detailed information to try to assimilate in a very short period of time.

You can do it

Just recently I mentioned finding this completely delightful and wonderful and highly recommended it.

DR Jrand maybe you are the reason I had it in my Netflix queue.

Even better, two recommendations....is this the New Years Eve one or a newer movie

DR Ron, thanks for the Castle warning.  We have two episodes of Bletchley Circle to watch tonight before we can see Castle.  I am very curious as to what you wrote.

Sounds like a lot of us watch Castle.  I really enjoy that show.

I didn't know Bletchley Circle was back on...I think I only saw the first season. Is it on Netfliix?

Today I got the wonderful pleasure of giving a mother and two of her sons their green cards.   We've been working on the process for about 3-4 years  I was thinking it was longer, but maybe not.  I'm thrilled for them.   We have one other son in the process....hopefully he'll be approved soon.   I just love being able to help someone do something that is truly life changing.  It made up for te 4 hours I spent tonight doing the billing

I did go shopping today, got some nice cardigans and big shirts to wear this winter on a presale so I can't pick them up until the 14th, but best of all I got a really nice mid calf length down coat. It was over 50% off, so it was reasonable and I tend to wear my winter coats for several years before I get a new one.  I got this one big enough to fit over a suit or multiple layers of sweaters etc. and still be comfortable.   Now I'm ready for winter

So, last week I bought a USB Blu-ray writer (burner) for my computer.  The player/writer programs that come with the device don't recognize my video card, so it doesn't work. :P

However, I downloaded the trial version of a different Blu-ray program and it works...but not for the one commercial Blu-ray disc that I tested.

It worked with some Blu-ray movie files burned onto dual-layer DVDs, although it has a "Trial Version" watermark in the middle of the image.

I don't really want to have to pay another $40 for the non-trial version of the software, but I might have to.

Otherwise, I won't be able to use the writer unless (or until) I get a new computer with an upgraded video card.
