Well, dear DRs, I would normally be posting that I just got home about now.

But ..... I seem to be in a Quality Inn in beautiful downtown Easton, PA instead.  Some two and a half hours short of actually being home!

I wish someone would turn the MAISIE DOBBS books into a series starring Kirsty Dillon.

She doesn't look like Maisie Dobbs ;)   I am not familiar with Kirsty Dillon and can't make a comment, I would however watch the series.

Long story short --

My car's battery warning light came on, and is probably indicating that belts are worn or that the alternator is not charging the battery, so the battery itself was discharging -- and just when you need it most; e.g., driving at night, in the rain, using heat, and all that good stuff that runs off the electrical system.  It didn't "go away" or "fix itself", so I used AAA to find an approved garage to leave the car with overnight, and they drove me down the street to a motel.  Hopefully they can fix the issue(s) upon starting their day around 8:00 in the a.m. tomorrow morning!  And I'll take a few vibes on that, if'n ya'all don't mind, thanks in advance!!  :)

On time flight has taken to the air.  I am posting from the aeroplane with free wi-fi.  Last time I flew one had to pay for the wi-fi.  The times they are a changin'.

A change for the good on an aeroplane, what a nice novelty.

The funds from my insurance were finally deposited in my bank account this morning. Whew! I can go buy a car tonight. I think I've settled on getting a Mazda2, even though I haven't test-driven one yet. Mark discovered on hertz.com, they have a rent-2-buy program where I can rent a car for three days and then buy it. They have a bright red 2013 Mazda2 with about 47,000 miles on it waiting for me at the Burbank airport. It's the "touring" trim level, so it has all the bells and whistles I like. And it's about $1,500 cheaper than anything I've found comparable. We'll go pick it up after work. I hope I like it!

Rent to buy, I like that.  VIBES YOU WANT TO BUY!!!

Has anybody here seen the Angelina Jolie movie Maleficent?  I am wondering how suitable it is for kids?  I am guessing that there is zero chance that my 5 year old niece would watch it. She is scared of everything. But my older niece (just turned 9) really wants to see it.  I am hoping it will be okay for her. I just got the dvd from the library.

DR Ron,
I'm surprised the chickens were friendly at all and let you hold and pet them. I've always thought that animals know a lot more than we give them credit for, but I'm still surprised they knew you.

For JRand and who else is interested --  I enjoyed "You Can't Take It With You" very much, though I was a little disappointed that Rose Byrne, who plays older daughter Alice was not in he show.  Her understudy was good, though.  It was a treat to see James Earl Jones as Grandpa.  And Kristine Nielsen was very funny.  Elizabeth Ashley was a hoot as the Countess.  Julie Halston made the most of her role.

Byron Jennings is playing the role I played.

Forgive me for my small-town thinking, but is there any explanation made on why Grandpa is black and his family is white?

It has been announced that the Duck Dynasty clan is planning a musical version of their lives. And it's to play in Las Vegas.

There are just so many wrongs about this whole thing that I don't even know where to begin.

I pray to God that I never have  to see it!

I read a bunch of those reviews. But none really specifically stated that kids had seen it. They all seemed very general.

And if you have any Apple issues you can just walk down the block to the Apple Store!

We have to go there for part of Richard's birthday present - new earbuds.

If you water them, do they turn into earblossoms?

I had to take care of some personal business this morning, but had a leisurely afternoon. Ran an errand, then had Mexican food for lunch. How nice to not feel rushed and to take my sweet time about things.
