Here is some news I don't believe I shared with the board...

I have a friend who started training for a marathon awhile back. She is now training for her second marathon, and her first marathon inspired three or four of my other friends to start training for a marathon. Well I have been contemplating it for awhile but I have decided I am going to start training to run a marathon in January. They actually have a class at Ball State called Marathon Running so I will take that. I am extremely excited!

Since we are sharing pictures of animals, here is my dog Peaches, I went home for the first time this school year last weekend and had forgotten how much I missed her. (About an hour from Ball State.)

She looks so scared in that picture. One thing I find funny is she is deathly afraid of water (Mainly getting sprayed with the hose and taking baths.) The funny think is if you leave the hook on the spray nozzle on the hose and walk away from it she loves attacking the stream of water, but as soon as you pick it up she scampers away and hides in the bushes. (We got her from a neighbor who had gotten her as a stray so we have no idea why she is so afraid of water when there are people around.)

Jennifer, thanks for asking.  It is very tender and hurts constantly, especially when I bend over.  I haven’t tried muscle relaxants in years since they always made me feel very weird.  It is possible the latest varieties are much better.  I purchased a gel type ice pack yesterday.  I use it for about 20 minutes at a time, when I can.  I start with the lower to mid back area, and then move it up.  The pain is worse in the middle of my back.  I have been taking a lot of Tylenol. I can’t take anything stronger for fear it will make me sick.

I’m hoping I’m better tomorrow because I still haven’t booked any plays for NY or my hotels.

Off to ice it again.  Goodnight.

I am told, Dear Reader Jane, that Advil is a superior antidote to pain than Tylenol.

Random picture I took this summer out the screen door of my bedroom looking across the street to the neighbors yard and the field beyond. Not very good but I sort of like what the screen did to the picture.

Cute dog.  Cuter legs.  What does the rest of this canine's guardian look like?

I am back from Little Shop of Horrors.  Lovely cast.  Lovely production.  Terrific score.  Absurdly overamplified sound design.  (Ear-splitting sound levels must be a contractual requirement for every musical that comes through the Ahmanson Theatre.)  Special mention should be made of Tari Kelly's--you should pardon the expression--delicious performance as Audrey.  The puppetry/machinery for Audrey II is noteworthy, too.

Last picture of the night! Here is a picture of all the cast, production team, and crew from Seussical when I did it this summer. It was such a fun show. Sorry it is not that great. It was scanned in.
