I fed Nick his breakfast, and then he wanted to go out. I wasn't paying much attention, so when I started getting cold, I closed the sliding door. Almost an hour later, I heard him crying out on the balcony. Just lucky I didn't go back to bed without checking on him.

The Derik Nelson and Family concert was quite wonderful. It was just Derik singing and playing guitar with his brother and sister singing, and a friend of Derik's on piano.

The concert was about an hour and 45 minutes with no intermission.

They had 140 chairs set up, and over 120 tickets pre-sold.

They sang mostly original songs written by Derik, but his sister Riana sang a song that she wrote.

They did do a few covers, including "The Christmas Song" in a very modern arrangement, but like the rest of the songs, it was a really nice arrangement.
