Even though Winter hasn't officially started is it too early for me to say I am sick of it already?

We got a lot of snow.  And for some reason it has stayed really thick on the tree branches.  So basically if you walk under a tree you might get a big thing of snow dropped on your head.

Other planetary influences point to things settling down by Sunday DR GINNY.

Yep, DR JRand, that's when my "reinforcements" arrive!

Now, this world class storm, the heaviest rain we were going to have in the last decade?  I believe it rained (and not that hard) for about two hours in the middle of the night.  Right now?  The sky is blue.

They can't call Corn Pops, Sugar Pops, anymore; because they are no longer sugared.  As a result, the cereal that I used to enjoy as a kid, is now, just plain nasty.

A nice young man named Brandon was here at 9am to do the measurements for our new countertops.  Before he arrived we had to clear everything from the kitchen surfaces, so our dining room was strewn with appliances, etc.  We discussed some design issues and he did a detailed drawing and took a lot of pictures.  I've decided only to put back what we absolutely need for the next week, because the installation is scheduled for 9am a week from Monday.

This site has spoiled me.  I expected that I could click on Brandon's name and get to see some photos of this nice young man.  No such luck.

What I learned from reading Jimmie Walker's autobiography DYN-O-MITE:

The producers wanted Ralph Carter to play the youngest son, Michael, but he had a long term contract with the Broadway musical RAISIN - so they cast another young actor who worked right up until the day they taped they pilot....and then was released:

Laurence Fishburne

And today he is the producer of that other hit TV series, MAWKISH, whoops BLACKish.

Ginny, was exactly is an assisted living room?  Is it more like a room in a nrsing home, or is it still along the lines of a small apartment, with possibly their own furniture?  I thought I should ask now, since I will probably have forgotten by the time I move into one.

That DR Ginny is such a tease, DR TCB!

And by the way, you old coot, I too read your posts. Unfortunately, with my diminishing mental powers I forget most of it by the time I start posting the next morning.

Interesting that neither the IMDB listing or Fishburne's listing even mentions the GOOD TIMES debacle.

Of course if Larry (as he was known then) had gotten the role on TV, he wouldn't have been available to do APOCALYPSE NOW.

It's a health care facility, but not as intensive as skilled nursing.  Mom will have a decent sized private room with en suite bath.  Meals are in a nearby dining room and she will be checked on throughout the day.  The staff will administer her meds, including her Scotch.  She will have neither meds nor Scotch in her room.

We should find out who will be the TOP THREE on The Amazing Race Tonight....but they say there is a "surprise" on the mat - so maybe this is a "you are still racing" leg.  That haven't had one of those yet this season.
