THE DARLING DAUGHTER™ PAYS A VISIT
« on: December 27, 2014, 12:27:59 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes paid a visit ($1.93) and a visit bought a candy bar and a soda pop, and now it is time for you to post until the visiting cows come home.

Good morning, everyone.

Sorry I didn't make it back here yesterday after my morning visit. I worked all day, and then went straight to a birthday party thrown in honor of my DH. Whose birthday it was.
Good King Wenceslas looked out on the Feast of Stephen. Yep, that was what day it was.        :)

Good morning, all! I must run to the post office and market, which should put me back here close to 10AM. Then, I plan to listen to Sandy Bainum's new CD, which I've been looking forward to, and contact my Mac man to assure he will come tomorrow and fix my computer.

My only other plans today are to cook and freeze at least half of whatever I purchase at the market.  I'm still up in the air about chili, pasta sauce, or chicken soup.  I'll decide when I get there.

I wonder how many times DR SINGDAW is singing today?  Or is today a work day?

I am all mixed up.  What day is it?

I read that as "I wonder how many notes DR SINGDAW is singing today".

Fr. Richard is on his way to Lima for a funeral.  Remember when we were there for Easter weekend, he was called to the hospital for the death of Mr. B?  Well, Mrs. B died just a few days before Christmas.  Richard is not performing the funeral, but wanted to be there.

I am not accompanying Richard because the plan was to meet my cousin and his wife (from Georgia) at Mom's for a visit.  Well, they heard from their cat sitter late yesterday that their house had been broken into, so they've headed home.  For a while, their 2 cats were missing, but apparently they've been found.

I have to go to Mom's at the appointed time because her phone is still not connected and I could not notify her of the change in plans.  That will be my task for Monday - chasing down someone on campus who can get the phone straightened out.  Holiday time is not the best time to engineer a move.

Errands are run, and I am home.  I have things to accomplish today, so I'd better start.

tod

I think it would be a three panel Cinerama movie. The film would be The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm which was one of two fiction films. (The rest of the Cinema movies were documentaries) It was released in 1962. I've never seen this film in any format.

Cinerama movies are so strange on TV - don't know how they are in the theater - but the people walk toward the camera and get bigger.  And for all the technology, you can still see the separation lines of the three cameras....at least on tv.

Maybe in some of the BluRay discs being released, it's not so apparent.

I was just straightening up some sh   stuff, and uncovered the LinkSys Wi-Fi router I'd been using up till just a few months ago when I got a new modem/router combo supplied by the cable company.  So now I'm wondering:

DR Elmore:  are you still routerless at Toyland?  You're totally welcome to try plugging this one in and, if it works, just keep it.

I don't know what you'd have to do -- if anything -- to configure it or set a new password or whatever, but maybe someone here has a clue or two?

I got a "new" one at Goodwill a couple of months ago, and it worked when I plugged it in.  I think a password is needed only if you want to keep your signal to yourself.

BK, I'm glad you had such a nice visit with your darling daughter.  We're looking forward to Rob and Mary Linda returning from Michigan today.  We'll have our Christmas celebration with them tomorrow - bacon-wrapped filet mignon, anyone?
