I sort of hate to ask it,
But do you have a basket?

I just read that in our local libraries, E-book lending is starting to surpass traditional book circulation.

TOD:

Since they are not out on Blu-ray/DVD yet, I have not seen a lot of 2014 films yet.

However, I did love THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL and I also enjoyed JERSEY BOYS and the remake of GAMBIT with Colin Firth.

As we no longer go to movie theaters, we will have to wait to see the major Oscar contenders.

We watched PRETTY WOMAN last night.  I hadn't seen it for 15 years.

Thoroughly enjoyed it.  The film holds up very well.

The other day

DR Jrand said he wanted one of these

That if June Lockhart could win one them....

Well actually she did not win one of these

or one of these in a case

in 1948

She would have won something like this

and then the men would have won this

Even though it is 2013 film I saw it in 2014.

Gravity.

I saw it in IMAX and 3D got motion sickness watching certain sequences.

As we close out 2014 I would have to say that it has not been the best year for me.

Here's hoping 2015 will so much better.

Good morning, all.

Definitely have the head cold.  And it's very much like the one two months ago, mostly confined to the nose and sinuses.  Thankfully.  Because if there's anything I hate worse than this, it's sore throats.  But I'm absolutely stymied as to how/where I picked up this one.  Oh wait.  I've been around people with colds.  Hmmm...

Fortunately, there's almost nothing I absolutely have to go out and do over the next few days.  That's a blessing.

Good morning, all!  The dog barked till midnight last night.  While my Mac Man was here, it barked all afternoon, calmed down for awhile and then revved up again for the evening.  I hate this animal.

So, the Mac seems to have settled down from the shock of being gutted and recharged. I'm hoping this is a good sign and not a lull.

I will run to the post office and stop by the pharmacy, then get back here and settle in for a week pf the Moross score.  Nothing's been accomplished since last week, and I've got notes to assemble for the first nine numbers before I continue the edits.

I think my biggest disappointment of 2014 was turning down LI'L ABNER because of my health.  At the time BK asked me, I could hardly stand upright and walk, and I had lost whatever sense of humor I had at that time.  I was negotiating the neighborhood, apartment, and immediate environments well enough, but I was terrified of being out in public and pushed about by crowds. I do believe that I made the right decision, and I have no doubt at all that David's orchestrations were great and fitted BK's vision completely.

Best part of 2014?  All relative, since I've had good years in which several good things occurred.  This year, every good thing was balanced or knocked down by the bad ones, of which there were far too many.

Perhaps because it's the last really good thing I remember, but I think it was the best of the year, was the November 16 weekend with the two Kritzerland shows and seeing so many friends: Ginny, Richard, vixmom, KevinH, ChasSmith, Ben, FJL, and BK. My life may have been cured in career, health, and romance, but it was blessed with fantastic friends.

And I need more coffee and to run some errands.

Monday morning greetings!  I have a routine check-up with our family doctor in half an hour, during which we will discuss the severe buzzing I get in my right ear sometimes.  It was really bad yesterday in church.  The pipe organ is bad enough, but add in the trumpet and - yikes!  What I hear is like the static you get when a radio station isn't coming in clearly and it's most annoying.

I was just commenting last night that I completely missed Chanukah and Christmas this year.  I was so out of it because of being sick.

I currently have two new dvds from the library: If I Stay and The Giver.  Looking forward to watching them both.

Plus I should have the Maze Runner sometime soon.  I read the book a long time ago.

HA!  I mentioned The Grand Budapest Hotel yesterday and here it is in the notes.  It had its debut on HBO on Saturday night which is where I saw it.

As I wrote yesterday, it certainly recommend it.....for all the reasons MR BK wrote about....and I see that DR DRUXY enjoyed it as well.  It is difficult to explain why.  Of course Mr Ralph Fienes is one of my favorite actors (except in NELL) - so it was great to see him in this ... wacky role.....

A moment from the film (bad language warning):
