As we close out 2014 I would have to say that it has not been the best year for me.

Here's hoping 2015 will so much better.

Let's hope the next year is better for you, Mike.

Holy crap!  My Medicare premium has risen 38% for 2015, and it really pisses me off. Social security certainly isn't raising my benefits but Empire Health is clearly saying to those of us on fixed income, Screw You.

I hope the bastards rot in hell.  At the rate they're going, i should be paying the $600/month i was paying before age 66 in another 2-3 years.  It's going to be cheaper to die.

My third party amount went up $55.00 a month, plus $7.00 more for dental.  It doesn't quite equal out to the $26.00 COLA raise.

Hello everyone!

I hope you have all been enjoying the holidays!

I wanted to drop in and say hello to you all!  DR FJL told me that there were some birthday greetings left here for me, and I want to thank all of you who thought of me yesterday, and everyone who sought me out on Facebook and also posted greetings for me there.  Thank you all!!

It has been a busy year.  I'm still doing a lot of work for MAC.  We've instituted a new series of open mics that we run for our members that travel among our various member nightclubs, and we've instituted a new series of educational seminars.  We've also presented a large event that honored songwriters during November -  we had people including Amanda Green and Georgia Stitt as part of the show, presenting some of their original work.  The show went great, but unfortunately, was the same weekend as BK's Kritzerland in NY shows, so I was very disappointed not to be able to attend BK's shows that weekend and get to see you all then, but I heard they were absolutely wonderful, and I'm hoping there will be another opportunity in the future to see more BK shows in NY.

I got to spend an extended Thanksgiving visit with my parents and other relatives in Florida, and got to spend some time with other relatives in NY over Christmas. Family is the best!!

I wish all of you a very happy and healthy new year, and a rockin' HHW new year's eve partay!  Best wishes to you all!

Your E&T  DR Julie

Thanks, Julie, and the same to you!

Well, the one good piece of news is that Time Warner had a free spot at 4:00 today and I should be getting the new modem and a technician to set me up. I'm hoping that solves a lot of issues.

I am becoming more and more computer stuid (see I can't spell stupid) every day.  Is a modem the same thing as a router?  Can I purchase my own, and plug in the wires the same way without involving the cable company?

Thank you for keeping Jason in your thoughts and prayers. I think the realization of how dangerous these jobs are has hit home. There has only been one other office killed in the line of duty up there.

JRand, I am glad you remember that post. We could easily have lost this young man and he could have ended up on the other side of the law. I am so very very proud of him.

Continued prayers and vibes for Jason.

"Visionary director...."

I feel the same way.  I guess we're just lucky Helena Bonham Carter (the soon to be EX Mrs. T. Burton) didn't "audition" for the part of Margaret Keane and "win" it over Amy Adams because of her great "talent" and "range."   :P

Since Margaret Keane is still alive, Helena couldn't have gotten away with making the character really weird.

DR TCB - as I understand....the modem is the little box you get from the Internet Company....a router is an in between you can use if you have more that ONE computer or if you want to have a wireless signal....although I think you can also get a wireless modem.

I have my modem from Comcast....which when I only had one computer, I plugged it directly into my computer.  Then I got another computer, so I bought a router....I plugged my modem into the router and then ran two cables one to each computer.

I then bought a WIRELESS router so that I would have a signal for my tablet and/or telephone in the house....so I have two computers plugged into the router....which also gives me a wireless signal that I can choose for my tablet, etc.

Miss Bonham Carter is the best Miss Honeychurch in "A Room With A View" ever.

I just read that in our local libraries, E-book lending is starting to surpass traditional book circulation.

Interesting.  I find there are still more books to be had at the regular library, not that I'm checking many of them out.

Good morning, all!  The dog barked till midnight last night.  While my Mac Man was here, it barked all afternoon, calmed down for awhile and then revved up again for the evening.  I hate this animal.

So, the Mac seems to have settled down from the shock of being gutted and recharged. I'm hoping this is a good sign and not a lull.

Continued vibes for your Mac!!!

I have to wonder why the dog is left alone day and night.  I hope it is temporary, like when Craig had night classes.

Monday morning greetings!  I have a routine check-up with our family doctor in half an hour, during which we will discuss the severe buzzing I get in my right ear sometimes.  It was really bad yesterday in church.  The pipe organ is bad enough, but add in the trumpet and - yikes!  What I hear is like the static you get when a radio station isn't coming in clearly and it's most annoying.

Vibes there is help for this!

I was just commenting last night that I completely missed Chanukah and Christmas this year.  I was so out of it because of being sick.

Is your cough gone?  I'm still coughing but feel fine otherwise.
