Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

The big news from San Antonio while I was gone involved a fire in an adult assisted living facility. There were 5 deaths and 17 hospitalized.

Horrible story.

Oh, no! :(

On the drive home from Oregon today, we passed a couple of accidents.  One had just happened not very long before we got to it and everyone seemed okay, just crashed cars, but one had two of the three lanes blocked and three, count 'em, THREE fire engines and several emergency vehicles passed us in the traffic slow-down.  It happened at a bridge, so we couldn't see what exactly happened.  I assume a car went over the edge, but I really don't know. :-\

I'm a bit frazzled over mom and dad.   We really need to hire someone to help clean and sort.  Their cleaning lady just dusts and vacuums, not the deep cleaning that needs to be done.  Mom keeps saying she can do it, but she can't.   We've started the process of talking to them about what they want for the future.  They really don't want to talk about it.  Hopefully that will change

Welcome to my world, DR Cillaliz...

Thanks, I guess

Thanks for the vibes, DR Jane!  Richard could use some, too, because he's down this evening with a stomach bug.

Vibes and prayers for DH Richard.

Ditto....

OHHHHHH   I almost forgot to tell you guys......  Former DR and my DN Samantha is officially engaged!! She got a very nice ring and was totally surprised.  Here I thought they were already engaged, but she said not officially. Don really surprised her and she is over the moon happy.   As a couple they are very good together and I couldn't think of anyone who would be a better match for her.   We are all very happy about it.

That's a great bit of news to end a year on. Hope they're very happy together.

They really are a great fit.  Sam says they both have a feisty personality, but it's really just that they both say what they think about thing.   I think the best thing is that they both are really themselves around each other and they seem to accept each other for who they are and they have two great little kids together. There's not bickering or saying "you need to do this or that"  I have a feeling this will last.   It will be a bit strange having a nephew who is only a few years younger than I am, but what the heck.

I really must get some sleep, I'm rarely up this late on a work night.  I had some work to do that I've been putting off and just had to get done so I can mail it out tomorrow.  It's done.  I think that's my last project that HAS to be done before the end of the week.  This lets me organize things at the office tomorrow and make sure that I'm ready for next week.  I'm looking forward to taking a few more days off.
