In other news, my brother in law helped my mom clean out her refrigerators, freezer and some of her cupboards.  They had 11 garbage bags full of expired stuff. Mom still doesn't believe that an expiration date means much, but at least it's done.  That's a huge deal.  I was going to drive up to help her  Mom is so funny, my brother in law is about the only person she will let help her clean things out.   This is a big start toward easing my concerns

I'm glad to hear this. I understand how difficult it can be to let go of things--yes, even old food, sometimes. It's so good there's someone she feels comfortable doing this with.

I left work at  9PM last night and was back  by 8 am this morning ,  but I was able to leave by 3:33 and hit the grocery store and be home by 4:34

Vixdad is suffering from a headcold  and the Vixter was working until about 45 minutes ago

We only live about  3/4 of a mile from the Texas Roadhouse so since Vixdad didn't feel up to going out  we called there for takeaway

With temperatures again expected to be in the single digits, Precious is wearing her thin sweater.  She likes to be stylish, and I don't take a chance on her impatience in the morning if I want to put on the leash AND the sweater.

 

She doesn't have sweaters in different colors?

I decided not to go to the party.  It's just too cold out and too far away and it's amateur night for the drinking drivers.  I really don't like to be out.  So, I'm here.  It's a pretty big party. I can make my apologies tomorrow. It will be ok

I have my go-go boots on.

I had my go-go boots on earlier. Seriously. Last year I bought some new boots to replace my much-loved old Santanas which my toes were about to poke through, and then WE HAD NO WINTER! It's been freezing here for the past week and I've learned that my new boots (Hotters) are both comfortable and WARM. They have a tassle in the back, which I must get used to as it makes a funny little noise.

we each had a Filet Mignon,  medium rare, sauteed mushrooms with onions, Vixdad had steak fries and I had a baked sweet potato

We live so close that I left the restaurant parking lot at 8:16 and was in the house by 8:19  by 8:21 we were having a lovely dinner
