OMG.....here is a photo of a car exactly like the very first brand new car I bought. A 1968 Rambler American in ... BLUE. That is not ME sitting in the driver's seat.

Posted twice.....weird. That car had vacuum windshield wipers which meant if you accelerated, the wipers stopped working.....

My parents had a Rambler American when I was a little girl. Grey, maybe?

LOL mine was a six cylinder automatic DR VIXMOM.....but I got it up to 103 MPH once. The doors started shaking like they were going to fly off....so I didn't try to push it to the 110 MPH the speedometer went up to.

Not the greatest design DR JEANNE, but it was a nice car in all kinds of weather....and the price was right....probably about $1500.

My first car was a red Fiat. For three months it had no reverse, so I'd have to park so I could pull straight out.

It had a stick shift. I had been instructed in how to drive one some time back, but had never really gotten the hang of it. I bought the Fiat and necessity helped me along as I drove it off the lot.
