TOD:

Just received a phishing email from someone claiming to be Chase Bank and that my credit card had been fraudulently used. So, I was supposed to fill out a form that asked way too many personal questions, including my Social Security number, my mother's maiden name and my email password. Yikes.

If you clicked on it enough to see the form, you may want to run Malwarebytes or another program that can detect malware.  It really works and Malware bytes has a free version that has caught things on my computers before

I go back and forth about internet privacy.  If someone really wants to know something about you, they can find it out.  That was always the case it's just easier now.  I don't like that the government has so much information.  I see it all in the cases I defend and all the providers give it all up when asked.    I almost think they have too much information for it to be useful.  Sort of an information overload.  I have the feeling it's more helpful to them after something happens rather than preventing something from happening.

We're tracked everywhere, the rewards card at every store. they are all marketing tools and track all your purchases.  That's a lot of information. I realize they really want it for advertising purposes, but it's a bit off putting.  When I think about it I pay cash and keep my rewards card in my billfold

My friend's 90 year old mother passed away this morning.  She received from her children everything she deserved, they took wonderful care of her these last years and were all with her today.

I just saw that Chita Rivera (being heralded as her "final" show)in The Visit will be arriving on Broadway on the last day to be eligible for The Tony Awards. The Kander/Ebb score (is this the last one or is there still one in the pipeline) probably will get nominated but I can't see how this show will have a life. The play is not a favorite of mine and they have been trying unsuccessfully to make a successfully musical of it. I saw call it a day and let Kander/Ebb be remembered for Cabaret and Chicago and a handful of other shows with great scores and not so good librettos. I have heard songs from a variety of sources and there is not one that I really like.

Of course this is just my opinion and it might become a classic.

Flight was uneventful. Read Balzac's wonderful "Colonel Chabert" on the flight and started a Mordden book on the Hollywood musical. It seems like the latter is going to be fussy.

If you look at the history of The Visit, I think it's somewhat clear that it's never going to be a smash, just as Scottsborough Boys wasn't.

If I had been in San Antonio this evening, I would have joined this group of journalists in front of the Alamo. Glad that a friend I used to work with organized it and that they had a good turnout.

I would have loved to have seen Scottsboro Boys, but I don't find myself listening to the CD all that much. By the same token, I'm glad to see the Visit is making it to Broadway, simply because it's a Kander and Ebb piece. I haven't much of an opinion of the few songs I've heard from it, other than they didn't stick with me.

I'm sure it will be recorded, though. Kander's score for The Landing was supposedly recorded, too, but has it ever been released?
