BK's former costume designer (coordinator?) just won a GG for best actress in a comedy or musical!

Maybe you and I are the only ones watching.

Possible...very possible.

Good morning, all! I'm working at home this morning, then meeting my friend Paul Ford for lunch at the Westway on 9th and 44th. I've got three numbers to finish for Act One of Gentlemen Be Seated! and I'd like to finish one of them before I head out.

DRs Cillaliz and JRand64, I appreciate your thought on the Mekeel situation. I do realize that he needed serious help and the friendship we had thirty years ago was a completely different one than it would be now.

DR Elmore, he clearly valued your friendship as he entrusted you with the poems he wrote in his journal.  If you want to visit him, I'd suggest writing to him first.   Sometimes you have to put people on your visitation list or they can't visit. Having had lots of contact with people in prison, I can tell you that contact from people they knew and cared about really means a lot to them, but you don't know his frame of mind, so initial contact in a letter is a good idea.  If you need help locating him, pm me, I'm sure I can figure out how to locate him

I was ging to call the Essex County prosecutor's office tomorrow afternoon and see what I can learn about where he is, his attorney, etc.  I thought I would contact the attorney representing him first of all. I'm not keen on just jumping onto a train and making a random search of New Jersey prisons

See your email for the info at the EC Jail.  I don't quite understand the information on this sheet...such as the "Dismissed" under the bond and "posted" under the same area.   I don't see any other information on line about this case. That seems a bit strange.    I would call the clerk of court in that county to see if it's still pending and who his attorney is. Call his attorney not the prosecutor.  Calling the prosecutor may get you a visit by an investigator or at least a lot of questions. I doubt you want to deal with that.

Here you get $12 plus mileage, which is figured from the center of your zip code. But only if you get chosen. Last time I was called, I had to go in and spend the day in voir-dire but didn't get chosen, so I only got a few dollars to cover my bus ride.

Loved the opening monologue, which I caught on Mashable. I found the audience reaction to the Bill Cosby jokes interesting.

Did anyone really think that two female comedians were not going to take a swipe at the Bill Cosby situation?

It seems strange to see Walt Disney's CINDERELLA over a live-action film.

I never got the hoopla over the Golden Globes Awards. I looked up who were the members at one time and there were only something like 99 members.

Thanks.  I just got up to turn off the computer and take a bowl back to bed with me.  The bowl is just in case I throw up.

You know, you are right Mike.  And yet, to the general public, in this country and around the world, the words, "Golden Globe Winner" means something to them.  So, I guess that is why I am interested.

I took a break - I'm working on a fun sequence, but it's just going very slowly and I was a bit tired.  So, I watched a sixty-minute movie.  Do keep posting the winners.  Glad Amy won and happy for J.K. Simmons.  I don't really remember much about recording Das Barbecue for some reason - but I do remember him being a very nice guy and very professional.

Last I heard you get $30 a day here  but if you don't get paid by your employer (and there is no law requiring that they pay you) that is al you get  so but in New York you are not going to pay your mortgage, your utilities, your grocery bill , your insurance, your car payment, your phone payment on $150 a week   and again  you wont even see that  pittance until 4 weeks after the service is complete\

and yes , you only get paid if you are chosen so you can spend your precious few vacation days sitting in a room waiting to be chosen or not

I am afraid I find jury duty not so much as a patriotic duty as involuntary servitude

Finishing up Ethan Mordden's "The Hollywood Musical" while waiting to read the Globe winners. Awful book. Maybe his worst. In his universe, Ron Field directed the original Cabaret. Only one of many irritating items. He's so obsessed with early musicals that he should have written "The Hollywood Musical in the 1930s" instead. Perhaps then he might have found a focus.

Power point done.  When you only have 15-20 minutes to explain something as complex as immigration law, you really have to summarize, lol

I've done almost eight pages - so I think I can get four more done by the end of the evening, and I'll have finished the current chapter and started a new one.
