Good morning. A stay-home day for me, because I HAVE to catch up on stuff around here.

My family and I liked a commercial for the board game "Life" because it was kind of funny. I also remember "I can't believe I ate the whole thing" (from Alka-Seltzer) became a very popular line in our neighborhood.

Yes DR DRUXY....that commercial was on SUPERMAN a lot!

I never missed Superman...or The Lone Ranger.

I was a deprived child.  I never had a Superman suit.   :(

On the other hand, as an adult, The Lone Ranger (Clayton Moore) was my neighbor.   :)

I liked the Donna Loren Dr. Pepper commercials.

I liked ALL the toy commercials.....especially the space toys.

I liked this gal, too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iAS5VaVR5o

But my favorite deodorant commercials had the announcer saying...."In the mature male and the mature female" and they showed statues like Venus di Milo and the Discus Thrower.....I think it was for BAN.....but it doesn't seem to be on YouTube.

Last night, I suddenly smelled smoke and had a few minutes of panic looking for something on fire in the apartment.

It came from across the river in New Jersey:

I've lived through two fires, and I do not want another.

I also loved the Uncola commercials with Geoffrey Holder, the American Indian surveying a garbage dump, the Chanel No. 5 commercial with Catherine Deneuve, and the Polaroid series with James Garner and Mariette Hartley.

I'm up, I'm up, barely.  So annoyed with myself - forgot to turn the heat off and it has completely trashed me - please send excellent vibes and xylophones that I don't get sick - my throat feels a bit sore, but I'm sure it all has to do with the damn heat blowing on me all damn night.  Did NOT sleep well at all - maybe five hours.

There has been a flurry of emails concerning the Encores! dilemma.  No resolution yet.

Did you ever see him without his mask on?

"This is a story of one of the most mysterious characters to appear in the early days of the west. He was a fabulous individual. A man whose presence brought fear to the lawless and hope to those who wanted to make this frontier land their home. He was known as The Lone Ranger."

We have been watching this show from the beginning.  In the last couple of episodes he apparently is no longer "a fabulous individual".  They took away our nightly laugh.

The Polaroid ones were fun.  Also were the Maxwell House (?) Coffee series with the couple falling in love over coffee.

Thursday afternoon greetings!  We've been to a funeral and the luncheon afterwards.  The deceased was the 93-year-old father of our across-the-street neighbor Mark.

DR Elmore, did you know an optometrist in town named Dr. John Rolfes?  We didn't know him, but Mark and his wife Rosemary appreciated our being there.
