Nice post from another board:

"Did her daughter just give the hook to Debbie Reynolds??

She was kinda rambling and repeating herself. But still....It's Debbie F------ Reynolds!!

Yes they have it for nook (same e-books).

Thanks.  This is a very clever marketing idea.  I personally do not like to begin a book and not be able to finish it ;)

I normally don't like samples. But in this case I like it. You can read the summary and then start it to have a better idea if it something you'd like to read.

It does look like a good site, and maybe one to go to in the future.

It's not a site. It's 2 e-books to download for free.

Thanks for posting the picture from the competition, JRand. And thanks, Jeanne and George for the nice comments.

The dancing does seem to agree with me, Jeanne. My partner, Joy, and I won both of our championships yesterday and received first place ratings for each of the dances we did. That's fairly amazing to me since we screwed up a few steps here and there, but Joy's insistence on my learning the most basic steps as perfectly as possible seems to be the secret. So, I still have my work cut out for me. But I'm enjoying it.

Have fun celebrating!

Thanks, Jane!  I did...and we all did.  We basically just sat around several tables and chatted.  Several told stories of the now-fired HR manager and at a couple, we all just dropped our jaws!  We figured that our new(ish) director took so long to get rid of him because she wanted (needed?) to get enough evidence to justify it, even though he's an exempt employee and can be let go for any reason.

I rarely drink, but when I got there, a co-worker said that the first round is being bought, so I had a Bailey's/Kahlua/cream and it was delish.  I've had this before.  I didn't even get a buzz.

About an hour after I got there (and had my first drink), one of the employees of the union arrived and bought a round.  I had another.  I still didn't get a buzz...which is fine.  After I left the party, I went to Subway and had a sub sandwich and now I'm home. :)

I missed a day or two somewhere in there, but promise to catch up.

I don't think anyone noticed.  Sorry, Jane.

Good evening, all.  Sorry to have been E&T since...what, yesterday morning?

Enjoying Florida, and not at all happy to hear of the coming blizzard.  It's supposed to have passed by Wednesday morning, and our flight back is that evening.  Neighbor will be plowing the driveway, but it's a tough one and we can only hope our other friend's SUV can get us up it.

Well, aside from a few annoyances, we had an easy December and most of January.  And now we're going to pay the piper.

I'm watching Galavant and it's pretty funny!  I'm enjoying a lot more than the first couple of episodes.

Watched a weird movie tonight called "The Whole Shebang" with Stanley Tucci, Bridget Fonda and Giancarlo Giannini. It was about an Italian family in the fireworks business. Sadly, fireworks on film don't really work. And these seemed especially cheesy.

But in a supporting role was a very funny Anna Maria Alberghetti.

Well, "Galavant" ended with a bunch of cliff-hangers...they even acknowledged that in the end song. :)
