I just taped a radio interview with Michael Sinclair of Gregg Hunter's radio show.  We talked about my new novel (based on fact), MURDER IN BABYLON, which deals with the still officially unsolved murder of Hollywood silent film director William Desmond Taylor.

Interestingly, the interview will air on CRN Talk.com at 9 pm (PT) Sunday, February 1st, which just happens to be the 95th anniversary of Taylor's murder.

Here's a link to the show:

Greetings from the top floor of the Sheraton Chicago!  I paid an extra $30/night for "club access," which means complimentary breakfast, evening appetizers, and a nice lounge to hang out in.  I'm resting in my room and will check out the lounge in an hour or so.  This evening I'm going to dinner with a big group of retired librarians, two of whom I know somewhat.

Dear Readers, I have received devastating news. News I had hoped never, ever to get.

Tonight, I'm going to see a production of "Amadeus" - which I've never seen on stage.  I need to keep the caffeine flowing, I think.

I'd never seen it on stage either, till maybe fifteen years ago when a local group did it and had me record the keyboard tracks.  They had a very interesting player-grand piano there (with the player parts long ago removed), and I loved the resulting sound when I saw the play.  It may not have been any more authentic than anything else, but it was both "antique sounding" and satisfying.  I always wanted to go back and check out that piano again, but never did, and I think it's gone now.

Anyhoo...

The production was really fine, and I thought the stage version, even minus a few of the movie's bells and whistles, was excellent.  Hope you see a good one.

Oh! I'm so sorry, DR Laura. I really know how devastating this is, and I'm surprised it's such a short notice.

Where are they moving?

I finally saw the second doctor about my knee. He recommends a partial knee replacement as opposed to a full knee which would be "overkill". BUT he no longer does partials (as I was told he did) because the hospital he is associated with does not have robotics which is the way to go for partials.

He did recommend another hospital that has one, but now I have to see if there is a doctor there that takes workman's comp. He also would not give anything me anything stronger than the first doctor prescribed.

So the pain continues and I won't know what is going to happen until I speak to workman's comp.

Jeanne I was skeptical about the homeopathic method (oh yes,  I was skeptical) but I woke  this morning feeling  fine-  no sore throat,  no nasal congestion, no sneezing  just a very sore nose from the sneezing yesterday    I used the Zicam nasal spray and  Sambucol black elderberry cold & flu relief quick dissolve tablets

Elmore, if you can get your hands on these I highly recommend them.

So glad you're feeling better, Vixmom.

Did the pharmacist mention to NOT take water with the Sambucol? Homeopathic remedies are never taken with water--you just let them dissolve in your mouth. Best not to eat or drink anything for 10 minutes before and after. But if you're DESPERATE, go ahead and take it.

Sambucol is a very handy remedy to keep on hand. You can ignore expiration dates on homeopathics, too; they never expire.

I'm glad you were able to discuss this with the doctor. I hope you find a doctor who can do the surgery. Vibes this is resolved satisfactorily.
