I have a friend in Washington who's daughter made super cute cupcakes for the Super Bowl party.  They are decorated with different designs in yellow & blue and topped with chocolate covered almonds decorated with football seems.

They sound cute.

So, Chicago is expecting about a foot of snow tomorrow.  I'm not even sure I'll go to the convention center.   Don't  want to get there and not be able to get back to the hotel.

How far from the convention center are you?

It's about a 15 minute ride on the wonderful Gale shuttle bus.

I'm reading an article on critisism of Australia's main national newspaper over its obituary of Colleen McCullough.  It really is shocking.  The obit began
"Colleen McCullough, Australia's best-selling author, was a charmer," the obituary began. "Plain of feature, and certainly overweight, she was, nevertheless, a woman of wit and warmth......"

I got a big laugh out of author Neil Gaiman's response
"Although his beard looked like someone had glued it on & his hair would have been unconvincing as a wig, he married a rockstar #MyOzObituary"

The article was interesting as I didn't realize what an accomplished woman she was.

Is tomorrow the last day of the convention?

No, DR TCB, it continues through Monday afternoon.  I have plans for lunch that day with a friend from grad school.  If I don't go tomorrow all I'll miss is hearing Levar Burton speak and some more publisher previews.

Reading the comments to the story I found this "funny" addition regarding the author of the obit..

"AP, Yahoo, and all of the other sites need to update this article because there is additional information. The author of the obituary cannot apologize, get fired, or anything else as he is DEAD and has been so since a few years before Colleen McCullough passed away. The obit had been written a few years ago as is often done for famous people. It was not edited (or fully edited) before "The Australian" published it inside of the paper with other obituaries."

Not this time, DR Jane.  But I do have my knitting, reading, and a football game to watch.

Or in the club lounge down the hall that I paid extra for...

If it is down the hall you will probably hear the noise from the game if you stay in your room.

I just realized, and corrected my error, that I called those cupcakes yellow & blue vs green & blue.
