I'm home!  I've only been home for about a half hour.  We had marvelously marvelous time.  The party was a reunion for the cast and crew of Olympia Little Theater's production of Shakespeare's "The Tempest."  I ran the sound for that show.

Not everyone involved in the production came, but of those who did, I got to chat and ketchup with most of them.  It was a fun party and I'm glad I went. :)

Today, I'm going down to Portland, Oregon with my friend Margo to see her daughter Alexis do her second one-woman show!  She put it together herself.

Her first one was very good and it was just her and a piano.  This time, she's going to have a little combo play with her.  I'm really looking forward to this.

Here's the description of this show:

Quote
Confessions of an Ex-Unicorn, a Cabaret

Come get caught up on the gory details of the romance gossip you've missed out on!

On Sunday, February 8, Alexis Moore Eytinge performs a charming and humorous cabaret of show tunes, dating adventures and the realities of becoming an adult. Yvette Starkey will be accompanying her at the piano, Amy Roesler on bass with Rachel Ann Becker and Kate Rosalie Brauneis on back up.

Ever have that co-worker who comes to your desk and starts spilling too much information about their date last night? Add some lively show tunes and you know what you’re in for! Song titles include: “Taylor, the Latte Boy”, “Miss Byrd”, “I Could Be Jewish For You,” “Lovesick” and “Arthur in the Afternoon”.

Audience members will be treated to comic discussions of how our sex education system does not prepare us for romantic relationships, how to share your feelings appropriately — a skill we all need for our everyday lives, not just dating — how emotions get backed up and can get in the way of the big “O” and an exploration of how our culture perpetuates unhealthy relationships.

Adult Content, All Ages until 8pm $5-10 sliding scale

Good morning, all.

Coffee!

And an absolutely scrumptious warm cinnamon roll.  It's almost indescribably good.

Wonderful notes, BK.  It's great to hear of the show's progress in such detail.  Wish I was there to see it for myself.

Catching up on the last few days posting.

Since we were mentioning Woody Allen.

My favorite lines from and older Allen films (1969-1994)

I finally had an orgasm, and my doctor said it was the wrong kind.

Don't speak.

I once stole a pornographic book that was printed in braille. I used to rub the dirty parts.

Hey, don't knock masturbation! It's sex with someone I love.

Good morning, all! I slept late after several weird dreams, of which I now remember bits of one with Judy Kaye and Rebecca Luker, and another about my fear of heights and a movie set.

I have to deal with a difficult Paint Your Wagon number today, and the hard work for Encores! is finished.  Before the orchestra reading on Feb. 27, I have to assemble this new book for the Tuba-Bass player and copy the missing 16 or so bars in "Hand Me Down That Can o' Beans."  I suspect there will be sme cosmetic work after Feb. 27 as well.
