Thanks, DRs Jane and Vixmom - Mom's outing was nothing major, but it was encouraging.

Elmore, did the tax go up or the assessment of the value of the property?  I know here when they raise the assessment you can challenge that.  I did last time and they lowered it.  If you haven't been able to sell the property that's a good argument that it isn't worth whatever they are valuing it

The day has been glorious. The temperature reached into the lower 80s and the sun felt healing and warm on my aching back as I trimmed the roses back. Or at least most of the roses.

Sadly, I now have many little thorn cuts in my hands.

Starting to watch Death Comes to Pemberley. This looks like it's going to be fun.

Time to head home.

Until later.

I thought the BBC series was better than the book, but Jane Austen got lost in both attempts to be a sequel to her brilliance. I didn't like the Lizzie Bennett, and P.D. James is very nasty to the charming Col. Brandon of P&P. I liked the actress playing Lydia and the screenplay adds Mr & Mrs Bennett, who do not appear in the novel.

My brothers call the shots and have done so since Day One.

Well, I ate dinner and had cake and I'm still feeling pretty good.  Whew!  I hope that means this is over.

Glad to hear that, DR Cillaliz. When one is working as hard as you are, there is no time for such stuff as illness.

Boy you can say that again.   Actually, I spent a good part of today revising my brief and getting it filed, so I was home recovering, but I was still working

Back from a pretty damn good first dress - no major disasters, although some of the cast was distracted by some costume issues, but no stops and more amazingly our band, who'd never rehearsed with our singers, played the show almost perfectly, and any problems were due to the fact the monitor system had no vocals in it, which will be addressed tomorrow.
