DR ELMORE is painting his wagon, DR MATTHEW is visiting the Addams family, DR GEORGE is taking laughing stock, and DR CHARLES SMITH has declared she loves me, and MR BK is inside out....

I am prophesying death and destruction to Antigone......

I may have missed somebody....but when it comes to theater, we here at HHW are certainly the first hogs to the trough.

Who am I missing?

When it comes the theater

Today.....to the surprise of everyone....even the defendant.....there will be closing arguments in the Jodi Arias Penalty Phase trial....

The defense had been expected to call three more witnesses starting yesterday.....but BAM....they rested....  Arias declined to do an allocution because the judge told her she could not do it with only the jury present and have her comments sealed and not available to the public after the trial....so today......Defense/Prosecution/Defense.....and the jury is ON!

I just reviewed all the posts I missed during Sunday evening's Oscar bash.  Low turnout this year, but a delightful read.  How nice to see BK turning the big 80,000, and to have been dropped in on by DR Edisaurus.

However, after all is said and done, the award for Best Post goes to vixmom:

Tuesday morning greetings!  I will be off in an hour or so for a book discussion at the library where my career began.

DR Ginny, I did receive my copy of The Miamian yesterday, but if you don't mind sending your copy, I'll pass it on to Rob, since he's mentioned in it.

You got it, DR Elmore!  Did you notice the ROBERTA sidebar on the opposite page?

They announced the new cast of Dancing With The Stars this morning.

For the most part the cast (of celebs) was not too interesting.  But there was one reveal that had me so excited.

All of the pro dancers had already been revealed but two.  After they announced the "stars" they cut to New York. I was sort of down because the cast did not really feature anyone I knew (yes there were obviously a few older/more famous people that I knew). But nobody too exciting to me who I feel would have the potential to win.  And then they announced that my most favorite pro dancer (who was not going to be doing this season) was able to find a way to do the season.  I am so happy. Derek Hough will be on season 20.

Why are they having Michael Sam dance with a female partner? They are plenty of gay dancing competitions in which the partners are same sex? Heck, tango's origins include many men dancing with men.

DR JohnG, do you have a nonregional DVD player?

I was telling Annalene, Simon, and Rob about the BBC GOOD COMPANIONS, and now they atr gong to rent it.  Several years ago, BBC Radio-3  broadcast the complete Previn-Mercer musical version; my friend John Wilson conducted and Annalene played Susie Dean!

I've been to market and the jeweler's.  My Mickeys are happy with their new batteries and ticking away.  The laundry is in the washers and I have nothing more at the moment to procrastinate about.  So . . .

let the tax tallies commence.

I noticed a credit on the SHE LOVES ME original cast CD (in one of those special little note credits inside the booklet, not on the formal credits layout):

Orchestra conducted by John Berkman

Musical direction was by Harold Hastings.  Dance arrangements by Jack Elliott.  That Berkman credit isn't on the original LP (though the solo violinist is credited there, and not on the CD).  And I don't find SHE LOVES ME listed among Mr. Berkman's credits on IBDB.

Curious!    (Paging DR Elmore?)

I don't think that same sex partners would work at all for DWTS.  First,  I would imagine that the pros would not be familar enough to do this. Second, I don't think that it would go over well with many fans.

DR ChasSmith, here's Berkman's credit from the original production of PIPPIN. Perhaps Hastings was unavailable to conduct the recording sessions and Berkman subbed for him?
