Well, you've read the notes, the notes marched right along, and now it is time for you to post until the marching cows come home.

TOD - Regarding one-man shows where I could be objective because family and friends were not involved:

Patrick Stewart's Christmas Carol, Madwoman of Central Park West, Shirley Valentine and I Am My own Wife.

I'm not sure if another favorite play, Souvenir, counts as a one-person show, although it's usually sold as one person playing Florence Foster Jenkins, and her pianist.  But the pianist is really quite a role.

The Devine Sarah played by Denise Pelletier. She died suddenly one week after I saw her do the show which may have been last show of the run.

Good morning, all!

Yesterday, at the orchestra rehearsal, I heard from a very good friend some very distressing news, and i was wide awake around 5:00 this morning pondering the news and its consequences. It's very distressing and what I would call the End of An Era. It may not be bad but I'm unhappy about the news.

So, I was out of bed by 6:45; I've got to finish my taxes and find some employment.  Or win the Lottery.

Or sell three acres of Ohio property.

TOD:

My favorite one-person shows are the ones that I wrote.

You had to ask?

It's very distressing and what I would call the End of An Era. I fear it will result in my friend moving out of the City, but it also means that a place I was quite fond of is no more.

So, I was out of bed by 6:45; I've got to finish my taxes and find some employment.  Or win the Lottery.

Or sell three acres of Ohio property.

Is this closing something that's public info, or were you asked to keep it a secret?

It isn't a closing; it's a change.

Yes DR JOHN G - and I wonder how many in the audience will know the backstory.

TOD:

I have not seen many one-person shows.

MASTER CLASS has several people in it, but it was mostly the Faye Dunaway Show when we saw it.  She was excellent - once the curtain finally went up.....45 minutes late.

I directed a one-woman show called "Loving Lucy."  The upshot of the show was that people who love Lucy wouldn't necessarily love Lucille Ball....and that was about the size of it.....but my leading actress was lovely and we had a lot of fun - the author was forbidden by the I Love Lucy writers to recreate any of that show's famous set pieces....so it was indeed about Lucille Ball - which disappointed a lot of people.

This photo was taken at our first rehearsal and the wig and makeup weren't right.  Megan dyed her hair and it was much more realistic......

I'm told we'll be starting tax work circa 11:30, so I should get ready and then hie myself to the office.

This is my first Saturday in the new office (we moved just before Christmas).  it'll be interesting to see what Saturday security at the building is like.   (At the old building, Saturday security was more diligent than weekday, it seemed.)

Last night was the Verdi Requiem with a choir of 150+. It was thrilling.
