For Throw-Up Thursday, here's a picture of me after I have been Oprah-fied. I think it captures something indefinable about me:

DR JOHN G did you give away cars that day.  I read you are closing the HARPO studios in Chicago....that will save you some money.

Throwback Thursday - the day we became godparents to DN Lauren.  In a couple of months, she'll be a Mom herself!

I like color photos!

This one was a color slide that I scanned, DR Jrand64.  I don't remember if it was Kodachrome or Ektachrome, but my uncle took slides with a decent 35mm camera back in the day, and we didn't even know a set of them were still around until I asked him a couple of years ago.  (Many of his had suffered water damage at some point.)  None of us had even remembered those pictures taken on a visit in 1963, so what a find they were.

The #1 song on the day I was born was "My Boyfriend's Back"
http://playback.fm/birthday-song

It made me want to look back at the Billboard #1 hits.

There are so many songs and artists who I have never heard of. Many of them were in the #1 position for multiple weeks.

Just to see how much musical tastes have changed in 50 years

The Theme From A Summer Place was the #1 hit for 9 consecutive weeks in 1960.! And it had no lyrics in the Percy Faith version!

Great photo, DR Ginny. And an even better story to go with it.

Those aren't shoulder pads, George. They're snacks for later.

Well, after hauling the trash can down to the road for trash pickup tomorrow morning, I can more easily understand why the show was cancelled tonight, especially if they got more snow in that area than we did.  Following the rain and icy mix of the past day and half, today's snow was just icing on the cake, and the surfaces are rough, uneven, horrible.  If we weren't at the tail end of this sh stuff and still had the main event of winter to look forward to, we'd be in trouble with the driveway and road surfaces in as frozen bad shape as they are now.  I'm not sure I've ever seen my own driveway looking as treacherous as it does today.  Tomorrow I must take a few pictures.

In the meantime, I'm now glad I don't have to drive out and back.   :)

Will you have a makeup show?  Or can those with tickets exchange for any other performance?

I think they do the exchange.

One thing this should do is fill up plenty of seats for the remaining shows.

I kept wondering why today;s notes sounded so familiar.  Because I read them last night before I went to sleep!

TOD

I would put in Beat The Devil as one of my favorites. One can usually find it cheap as it is in public domain. Great cast, story. And a side note Stephen Sondheim worked on this film in a most unlikely position. Some of you right know, but the others take a guess without looking it up. :-)

I completely zoned last night that this morning was the commentary for the Fantasticks.  Thankfully Nick and Jean Louisa Kelly both called and just as thankfully I'd already done much of my prep work and questions but not all.  I quickly did some others then had to run to the session.

We had to, of course, chatter away for all eighty-six minutes of the film, which is never easy and I kind of blew through my history stuff too quickly - I should have paced it out better, but you get in that mode and just yak.  I had questions for Jean and she answered them and we really motored on for the first hour - then it got hard because we'd covered so much.  But I think we got through the rest okay and there are two other commentary tracks on the disc so between us all we should be fine.  I got the history of the show, the TV version, the Gower Champion aborted movie attempt, and she talked about the cast and location and how it was to do the film.

I came right home, having missed the one o'clock phone meeting, which has to be rescheduled, and now we're about to start the Kritzerland rehearsal.

So happy Cox got their act together - I knew if they got the info I'd sent to Kevin that they'd see what they needed to do and they did.  So welcome back to Kevin and Laura and hopefully Kerry.
