I'll have you all know I'm not ready to give up that hour tonight.  No sirree, not yet.  It's just too damn soon.  That has always been a springtime ritual.  Just like the other change was always a fall ritual.  But they've changed it, and now, at least here in the northeast, they're both a winter pain in the ass.

I hate change when it comes to "rituals".

Sometimes I hate change when it doesn't come to "rituals".

Last night I went to see "American Showstoppers: an Evening of Irving Berlin" with Fred Barton and his Orchestra.  The singers were all terrific.  They included Karen Murphy, Lee Roy Reams, Karen Ziemba, Damon Kirsche, David Elder, Natasha Yvette Williams and, oh yeah, Brent Barrett.

When I was looking for a leading man for ROBERTA, I contacted Damon Kirsche, who had been in McGlinn's concerts of VERY WARM FOR MAY at Carnegie Rectal Hall, as I recall.  I was ready to cast him but he was committed to something elsewhere; maybe Oklahoma or Kansas City?

I love love love Karen Ziemba!

We tried to have Brent in this Kritzerland show - now we know why he couldn't do it.

And I am home from Toyland. Tax forms signed and fees paid, although I told them they couldn't put the check into the bank until next Tuesday, when my Social Security lands.

I am house-sitting once again in the Oakland Hills.

This time, I have Red in my charge (or vice versa).  Red is an Australian Shepherd with herding instincts that he has honed to include his human captives.

Sigh.

;D :)

I think it is due to Red's presence and his attachment to me (!) that both cats are being MUCH more sociable with me.  One is getting very chummy and the other has progressed beyond running away at first sight of me (she tolerates me in order to receive "treats").

Awww. sweet.

The weather forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday (right now) show 40F.  I don't think it's been above freezing for months.  This winter has been positively frigid. I am so excited.  Please let the snow melt!
